Café Luce Italian Restaurant

The food was incredible! And the waiter that recommended the food, was very helpful and incredibly kind. The lasagna and the mushroom ravioli are amazing!!!

Incredible restaurant the food is so delicious, i took a Burrata for start and a penne Alfredo for entree everything was so fantastic, i highly recommend cafe luce cant wait to come back!!!

Okey, where should I begin. How this place can have so many good reviews is beyond my comprehension. This dinner was supposed to be our last romantic dinner in NYC and we went there because of all the positive reviews on google, but this experience was one of my truly worst when in comes down to the most important thing in an restaurant: the food. A small place is not an issue, in fact it’s cozy, a crowded night can’t be the excuse either cuz the food arrived in 10 minutes - aka so fast you know something is fishy. And we should have read the room better and turned around in the door, because the first thing we noticed was that all the people who were in there had half empty plates. So yeah, the food: “handmade fresh pasta” so so over cooked and it was like eating box noodles, the “homemade” meatballs was so dry and overcooked I would served them to my dog, the sauce where not seasoned or cooked with love. And the food is way overpriced and yes it’s nyc, but to charge these prices are an absolute joke. The server was kind and friendly, but that’s the only positive. Had to stop by another restaurant on our walk home because we couldn’t eat the “homemade” expensive pasta we were served.

Perfect for a midweek solo travel dinner. Sat at the bar, got very quick and friendly service. Tricolor salad had fresh greens and good balance of flavors, and penne alla vodka was comforting.
