Amazing food with authentic South African flavors!

Fun place to sample South African food.

This was a great casual night out. The owner helped us navigate the menu. We found a mix of curries and other traditional South African dishes that satisfied the whole family, including our 12yo twins. They ate the whole thing and raved over the desserts. Note that the serving sizes are ample. The appetizer sampler also had a few very tasty elements (the wings, sausage and meatballs were all hits). The service was great and quite personal. The ginger beer was a hit with the kids (non-alcoholic of course!). This place has a lot of personality, and I imagine the things they were advertising for other nights would be quite fun. We will be back. And you should enjoy as well! PS make sure you know your African capitals. We were quizzed before we could order!

Such a cool little gem! tucked away on Miramar road (conveniently close to the dispensary, btw), it’s good a vibe and deco totally unlike anywhere else in San Diego. It’s low key, but still offers a great drink selection with craft brews, wines, and mimosas (bottomless from 10-4). Food is delicious! Not spicy but still full of flavor, and really well-priced. Yum…*extra points for the bona fide South African accent taking your order.

Phenomenal place! Richly flavorful wings, bobotie, bunny chow, curry lamb, rice, monkey gland burgers, and fufu. I missed good South African food since Cape Town closed some years ago, and while I’ll always miss the savory pies as they were there, I’m glad Bunny Chow and them will never have to compete. The wider selection makes this place a sure-fire winner. Highly recommended to absolutely anyone!
