Bluestone Lane Upper East Side Café

This Bluestone Lane shop is quite unique that it is located within a church. I placed a mobile order for pick up here. There's a mini stand outside where you pick up for order. I had to wait an additional 5 minutes for my coffee, although I did order it well ahead. Not really sure how it all works here as it appears you place your drink order at the said stand. If you wanted to sit down inside, not sure how that works.

Terrible customer service. I was visiting New York and was so cold so I wanted to have some hot cappuccino. It seemed a bit crowded inside so I wanted to take coffee somewhere else to drink. For that reason, I asked for it to go. I was just waiting for my coffee inside and the waitress told me "Go outside and wait - we will bring it out". I initially thought the waitress was telling me to get out of the way, so I just went to the side and waited near the door. Then, she told me to go outside and wait again. Now, this was early February in New York, super cold and the waiting area outside didn't have any type of heating. I would have been willing to wait outside if she asked nicely or just explained why I have to go outside. Instead, the tone that waitress talked was so rude. Almost bothered that I am there. It took a while for them to bring me out my coffee. My mood was ruined. Coffee itself was fine, but blue bottle or Philz are way better. Don't get a takeout here.

The guy who runs this place cares so much about coffee and service. You feel appreciated. He reminds me of the great deano, who won the 1964 barista world championship. He has unbelievable knowledge of coffee and creams

Went for a mid morning snack while waiting for a neaby museum to open. I was not too hungry so I ordered a toast with avocado and coffee. Food was decent but nothing out of the ordinary. The restaurant did not offer a restroom for their customers.

FABULOUS WELCOME ! My wife and I had a tour ( 2pm slot ) to do at the Guggenheim Museum next door but first we wanted to make sure we could get a table here for lunch after our tour. It sure looked packed inside and out when we rolled up to the host desk and spoke with the friendliest guy in the world...Jhonatan the host. No problem our new friend said....I will reserve you a table for a bit later on. In fact we finished our tour ( partial due to exhibit change outs ) much earlier than expected and when we returned for lunch our good mate Jhonatan had the perfect spot for us inside. TOP NOTCH SERVICE ! Shortly after we made ourselves comfortable at our booth table inside the church David the manager introduced himself and proceeded to look after us like AUSTRALIAN ROYALTY ! Best Cappuccinos in New York, sensational Spiced Chicken Wrap ( we shared ), delicious Cold Pressed Orange Juice ( for later on ) and WHOO WHOO.. a genuine AUSSIE LAMINGTON ( fluffy Yellow Cake drenched in Chocolate and smothered in Coconut ) specially for me. FAIR DINKUM ( Aussie for the honest truth ) it was bloody delicious ! We had a terrific CHIN WAG ( Aussie for chat ) with David and let him know we thought Bluestone Lane was BONZA ( first rate ) !

Our server was Sara. She was kind, professional, quick, and friendly. The food and coffee were amazing! The manager Jack was quick to answer any questions we had and was very sociable. 10/10 would recommend this place, and ask for Sara when you do! Vegetarian options: Athletes burrito is my favorite
