While I was waiting for surgery my husband went there for lunch. All I heard was great food and especially the coleslaw. Best he has had
I was babysitting a sick dog at the hotel while the wife and kids painted the town. She stopped into Black Woods and picked me up a rack of ribs and red velvet. Meal was still hot when they returned to the hotel and EVERYTHING was DELICIOUS, including the sides. Looking forward stopping in next time we are Duluth
Rustic older feel inside. View of Lake Superior from some of the tables. Food was good prices were reasonable for lunch.
The service was very good. The atmosphere was ok but it was very dim. And the food was not as good as I expected for the price we paid.
Had the artichoke dip, it was tasty but the chips were really salty, they were good but salty.
Good food and service but a little pricey.
I do not know what last night's issue was, but the food was cold!!! ❄️ The only thing that was hot was my wife's fish but it had no flavor of the maple that was in the flavor profile! To matters worse she was sick afterwards. I made multiple complaints to the waiter who apologized but there was no attempt to try to fix the situation of the cold and wrong food. We still paid full price (between two people who had water and only one GLASS of wine for the table no appetizers) the bill was over $85. We use to go here multiple times a year when we travel up north. But after last night I would not recommend again. Due to lack of care from the waiter to the lack of professionalism in the kitchen. OH YEAH can not forget!!! It was a slow evening as well. Only 5 tables with only a couple of people at each. There was NO dinner rush!! There was no issue of price if the food would of been actually good!
