Went on a whim and already planning a return visit. Everything we ordered, from cocktails to food to dessert, were truly fantastic. Best burger I've had in a long time and has to be one of the best in the city. Exceptional service, to boot. Parking can be a little tricky but it's worth any/all fuss, trust me. Order anything -- you can't go wrong.
the mushroom sandwich was amazing
Cocktails on point. And the mushroom melt could turn me into a vegetarian.
Everyone should get here! Great use of space in a historical building. Food & service are down-to-earth and professional. Everything on the menu is delicious We've been 3 times now. French onion soup, pate, cornish hen, bouilabaise, steak frites, mushrooms sandwich Excellent wine list as well. Craig has a great eye for finding unique wines.
Had lunch at this charming little French restaurant in Monadnock Building. Food was delicious and beautifully presented. We had the French Onion soup, Cucumber Salad with Green Goddess Dressing, and the Mushroom Pressed Sandwich, all of which were sublime. Wait staff was helpful and attentive. This place now is on my favorite list.
Just go here. Order anything and it will be perfect. Everything we ordered came out prompt, tasted amazing, great beer and cocktail list, amazing friendly service. Clean, and unique plating. Will return.
So glad this place is the way it is! It has old-fashioned quality and charm in every aspect with attention to the right details, which was exactly the escape I needed from being overwhelmed by the big city as a tourist from out of state. I went here twice with my girlfriend within days. Every bit of all the different foods we had tasted excellent, nuanced, rich, and gourmet. Visually appealing and authentic without being superficial. The size of the menu was just right - variety and uniqueness but not too big. We had cocktails we'd never heard of and they tasted amazing. The waiters were perfect. Very much appreciated that they were not overbearing, and they correctly gauged that we did not want a lot of attention, while still being super polite, mellow, real, proficient, and attentive to when the table actually needed it. They were friendly and conversational if that's what you initiate, without overdoing it, or they leave you alone if that's how you seem - perfect. I imagine this is how classic European waiters are and it's so refreshing. Our first night, the place was quiet with few guests, and we appreciated that they sat everyone spaced out across the entirety for our benefit. Our second night, it was fully packed and the dining room becomes somewhat loud, and we personally liked this because it was a happy sound with the other guests enjoying themselves respectfully, and we like that it hides our own conversation. We were still able to hear each other and the waiter fine. We loved the low-key entrance on the relatively-secluded narrow street. I was even impressed with this place having many all-to-yourself restrooms with a thorough aesthetic. The building is a restored historic one which is quite fitting. The prices were very reasonable for such high quality. They should probably raise them after they become more established.
Enjoyed a late lunch with co-workers. We tried just about everything. Highly recommend the charcuterie board. The cocktails and beer list were great. It was quiet at 1:30, the loop really needed a lunch option just like this.
