Good soul food. Was hot and fresh.
Ordered a steak and felt like a king. This is what chicago is about
Bronzeville was a great find. I'd been wanting to try soul food for a while and I'm glad this was my initial experience. what stood out the most was how kind and friendly the staff was. From the moment we walked in, we were directly greeted and were given recommendations on the menu. Throughout the meal we had different staff members stop by to check in on. We felt very attended to, and that type of hospitality was something I had never experienced at a restaurant before! Vegetarian options: N/a
The wait is 40 minutes minimum for anything Food tastes bland and not appetizing, sweet potatoes, ok Fish wasn’t fresh taste like it was sitting buffet style
The food here is DELICIOUS! I’ve been here twice and both times I cleaned my plates off and left very little crumbs. lol The owner greeted everyone in the restaurant and their staff constantly checked on us. Everyone is very kind! The place was clean and spacious. I am coming back and will consider this restaurant for catering services as well.
Everything was delicious! Especially the greens. 9/10. Will visit again.
Visited Bronzeville Soul on Easter. It waa ok. The menu for the day needs to be written in colors (black) which is easy to read. The music was too loud. I felt I was in competition with the music because it drowned out the conversation. The cashier had to yell to call out the numbers for service. The cake look like Angelica Cakes (over priced and dry as a dessert) and Angelica FELL OFF years ago. The beef short ribs was seasoned well BUT THIN SLICED and dry. The mac/cheese, red beans and rice and mash potatoes was bland. NEEDS MORE SEASON. The collard greens were spicy. The cornbread muffin waa dry.
Never again. Take out short ribs horrible
Food 10/10 we all loved our food! So good Service 10/10 from the cashier to the server... top tier, very nice, and engaging Atmosphere 8/10 nice dine-in spot, good size, but the bathroom needs work. A big water spot in the middle of the floor. They do charge a 3% dine-in fee. I'm over the fees that the restaurants are charging now since COVID. It's ridiculous but I guess.
