Bello by S Nardone is a great hidden gem in Newport/Irvine. Food is delicious and very Italian authentic. The owner and chef is amazingly friendly and does a great job. In my opinion for food, atmosphere and drinks is the best Italian restaurant in Orange County. Wheelchair accessibility: Easy to access for anybody and anything.
We did the Chef's Dinner, personally prepared by Sandro. He is great, and the food was creative, beautifully presented, and exceptional. Delicious and fun!
its been a year and a half since I have been here yet their food still tastes excellent! The calamari is the best appetizer you can get in my opinion. I loved the marinara sauce that came with it. I ordered some type of truffle pasta and they did not skip out on the truffle!! Biggest amount of truffle I have seen a restaurant give. My dad ordered a shrimp type of pasta and that was also delectable. For a dessert, we ordered the chocolate tart and it was so good!! This restaurant is on the pricer side yet still amazing!!
My husband and I love trying out new restaurants. We especially enjoy trying out the meals of private chefs around Los Angeles. We are quite picky and fair when it comes to evaluating food. For Valentine's Day, we took a risk and decided to try out Bello for the first time. And we couldn't be happier. It was extraordinary. Now, I will share with you the things we tried. Before ordering, we were served 6 pieces of sourdough bread with amazing olive oil. Then for Antipasti, we ordered the Polpo. Fried Octopus. The portion size was larger than usual, almost too filling for 2 person. We ordered Tagliolini Al Tartufo and Costolette Agnello. The Tagliolini was enchanting. It got better with every bite. The truffle mushrooms on top added an amazing flavor. The Costolette Agnello was something else. Served with eggplant and a lightly sweet sauce on top. We normally don't like the smell of lamb, but the lamb chops were not smelly at all and were incredibly tender. Imagine the most beautiful lamb chop you can eat. For dessert, we chose tiramisu and got the panna cotta to go. The tiramisu was the perfect ending to the meal. It was simply amazing. We will definitely be coming back to this place regularly. Chef Sandro Nardone of Bello excites us incredibly! We are gonna closely follow him.
Small portions, weird bread / focaccia, forgetful servers small portions of olive oil .the Cesar salad needed more flavor and the Romaine leaves were from the core Mayb more leafy greens and MORE dressing . This place needs some help .
We totally enjoyed our pasta. We just came back from Italy so we wanted to taste more Italian food and the pasta did it. Pizza was ok. Salad was good and my daughter enjoyed her calamari and said it tasted like Italy. So thank you
Arrogant waiters without great service. Mushy tiramisu. Lasagna without red sauce dripping in white cheese mushy noodles. Nice wall covering graphics. Way over priced. If you bring your own wine they charge $30 per bottle to open it. I was there six people for a birthday lunch. Very disappointing. $70 per person at lunch and we shared entrees. Four cocktails for six people. Never coming back.
If I could give 2 times 5 star to the service I would. Beside the food is amazing the staff and managment are why this place stands out. We were a group of six had reservation for last hour for our company dinner and when the checkout time comes our company cards were not working we were stressed with a big bill while the restaurant was about to close but thankfully they were so understanding that they stayed as much as we needed to call for our gift card investigation. We are so grateful for the whole experience that nigh and will definitely go back.
