Fantastic on all fronts, they nailed everything ramen should be from tasty tangy noodles, to seasoned eggs and delicious broth. Will come again!
Not kidding when I say it’s the best sushi I’ve had in recent memory. The Bansho House Roll with shrimp and tempura salmon literally melted in my house. I normally like sushi, but I don’t love it. I LOVED their sushi. My family also absolutely loved their ramen. Don’t walk here, RUN. Cherry on the cake was that it’s a cute little place.
Let me say This was my very 1st Time ever trying Ramen and I was taking a stroll in Berkeley looking for a bomb spot to try and this place did NOT disappoint! Im so happy I just tried it out. Everything was so great! From the customer service to the food! 10000/10. I did the custom Ramen! Ill be back with my Husband!
Are you guys serious? Is this the best ramen in Berkeley? This joint is run by Chinese / Cantonese people, I understand why some reviews say the food tastes more like Cantonese rather than Japanese after ordering the Bansho ultimate. It is quite expensive, $20 after tax. For this price I'm expecting a lot more portions and more than a single slice of pork. The broth has no depth of flavor and is too salty in a bad way. While the noodles are almost bland. The ultimate got a lot of gimmick ingredients trying to stand out but I would prefer they master the basics of good ramen. I did not try their sushi. The service was fine. Plenty of interior seating.
Cozy place, delicious edamame, gyoza, and ramen. Several ramen dishes and sushi too. Loved this restaurant!
Early dinner on our way home from the City & completely satisfied our craving for the perfect bowl of ramen! Ordered the baked Lion Roll and Bansho Ultimate Ramen, medium heat. Bansho Ultimate is balanced between creamy, spiced, and tender pork shoulder. The Lion Roll was flavorful, but be ready for the soft baked salmon to make for full bites. Service had the neighborhood hospitality of a cozy local corner. Plenty of street parking on Dwight Way.
Everything seemed fresh and well put together. The reviews of this place are persuasive but I don't know, it was... fine. For a ramen place, the flavors were very low key, no punch from all the reports around the table. Solid ramen, and your money won't be wasted here, but there are far more impressive bowls of ramen out there.
One of the best Tonkotsu ramens I’ve had. Broth is very flavorful and the chashu was super tender and rich.
