Comparing Indonesian restaurants in California, this restaurant stands out for its taste. We order fried rice, fried noodle, and chicken satay. The fried rice and noodle are great, probably the best one in California, as far as I know. The pork one is using a BBQ pork, so thumbs up for that. The satay is just okay. The peanut sauce is too plain.
The fried rice I would not eat this particular dish or anything else from Bali Kitchen. The quality and taste of the food is not worth the money customer is paying.
We're having lunch on New Year day 2024, enjoying delicious authentic Indonesian cuisine and fresh day of the Old Sacramento atmosphere. The must visiting place in Old Sacramento☆
While the food was decent for a quick stop in Old Sacramento, I wish the owner could select compost friendly plates /bowls vs foam plastic to serve hot noodle, not only unhealthy because of the chemical might get into your food, but also toxic for the environment .
This was the most amazing authentic fresh soup I’ve had in so long . I enjoyed sitting out side and people watching while having lunch. The lemon grass flavor was amazing the veggies were amazing the noodles perfect. BUT THE PRICES ON THE MENU ARE OUTDATED. my soup was $19, but worth every penny!
Great place for some chicken noodle soup. Friendly and quick spot right in Old town Sacramento. Outdoor seating with shade. Parking can be accessible if not to busy.
The Lemon grass chicken was too dry, my friend couldn’t even eat it. The Tofu in Gadogado was very old and it tasted sour. It is very expensive compare with what you get. We were planning to go to Shanghai delight, but they closed temporarily due to remodel. I don’t think I will ever try this place again.
The worst Indonesian restaurant in US
I’ve been here 4 times in two months and I live over an hour away! I also take my family and friends here. I love most of the food here and here’s my review… Bali Kitchen is located in the beautiful Old Town Sacramento, close to all the candy, toy, and other fun shops. Street parking can be hard to find during busy hours. There is a parking garage nearby that charges $1.50 per half hour. There is outdoor seating only, so bring a jacket if you go when it’s cold. Sometimes the staff isn’t right by the door, so ring the bell! My friend and I tried the Nasi Goreng / Fried Rice, Tofu Curry, and Goat Soup / Soto Kambing, Resoles, Es Cendol. The Es Cendol needs a little bit more brown sugar. Resoles was good but not amazing. So they weren’t my favorite. My friend liked the tofu curry because it felt fresh. The Nasi Goreng was pretty good. My favorite was the Goat Soup, I ordered another order for to-go so that I can have it at home. The next few times I went with family and friends and ordered more dishes. We liked the Nasi Uduk and Es Kelapa drink. Bakmi Goreng was pretty good too! Can’t wait to come back!
