Pretty mediocre-decent food that was so overpriced, even if it was great
It is the local diner! Extensive menu with any item served almost instantaneously when ordered. Not a gourmet place but loads of options. And not a place to linger when they are busy...
I was first introduced to Astro in 2013, and since then I have been every time I visit Manhattan. If you're looking for something to get you ready for a day in the Big Apple, this is what you need! Shun the souless chains, and head straight for an independent institution. It's a traditional urban diner, with everything you would expect; great service, great food and a great atmosphere. It feels like the menu has grown over the years, but I tend to stick to a couple of classics. It's fairly priced for the area (everything in Manhattan feels expensive at the moment!) and don't forget to pick up one of thier mugs to take home as a souvenier!
Food and service was great! Nice diner with an old school vibe and good place to relax and people watch. Highly recommended!
Service is pretty fast. Not a spot for large groups if you want to sit together. We had our coffee and water right when we sat down and never saw the bottom of my cup the whole time. I ordered the corn beef hash with eggs over medium. The eggs were perfect and the potatoes were great. Now as for the corn beef hash, it came from a can. Don't get me wrong I love corn beef hash in a can and if that's what you want it's great but I was hoping for fresh made. Still it's a great little dinner and I recommend it. Just know that people don't know the difference between corn beef in a can and fresh made in their reviews.
Good breakfast, and a good diner expierence. Although the orange juice was $8... Didn't expect that one.
After a day at MoMa great place to unwind..
