Artie's Steak and Seafood, once a beloved spot for my family's celebrations, has sadly lost its charm. During a recent visit meant to rekindle fond memories, we were met with a confusing menu and pushy service from the outset. The lack of available chilled wine and a rushed atmosphere further dampened our spirits. The low point came when a whole fish, served with bones, led to a painful dining experience for my partner. Attempts to address this with the staff only added insult to injury, as we were met with passive-aggressive remarks rather than understanding. This visit was a stark departure from the warm and welcoming experiences of the past. The decline in service and quality at Artie's has turned a once cherished venue into a place we can no longer recommend. A truly disappointing turn for a restaurant that used to hold such a special place in our hearts.
Update: On latest visit we tried the seafood appetizer for two, the tuna and the chicken francais. All were excellent. The appetizer had shrimp, stuffed clams, mussels and eggplant rollatini. Service was attentive without being overbearing. Wonderful variety of seafood and Italian staples. Portions are generous. We shared oysters and the half shell and the grilled octopus. They were both lovely. The new England clam chowder was excellent. Tasty pieces of clam were good. The cup will not be enough! The fettucini with shrimp and lobster in spicy marinara was very good and provided enough for a second meal.
My father chose Artie's for Father's Day. We all enjoyed it very much. Great food, good service, & it has a very nice atmosphere. Thank you.
