Angelos Nido Italia Restaurant

Stoped by for lunch with my wife and I was left with mixed feelings. The staff is very professional and kind, service was impeccable. The pricing is very reasonable for the location. The food was a hit or miss. All the portions are quite large. We had the antipasti platter for appetizers, which was a mistake, since they brought warm bread and butter, which was ironically better than the platter. It’s not that it was bad, just lackluster for an Italian restaurant. The pasta was very good and the Calzone was palatable but not very good. The espressos were perfect. The venue is very dimly lit and has beautiful italian music on the bqckground, but it definitely feels a bit forced. I can see it trying to be a romantic/elegant restaurant, but it doesn't quite make it. Overall I'd say check it out if you're in the area, but just get the pasta. Also there is a 3.5% surcharge for credit card pay, which seems to be customary in the area, but feels outrageous in this day and age.

A group of us went here for NYE and the food, service and entertainment were fantastic! Every appetizer and every entree were amazing. Angelo really cares and it shows. We were so impressed that my daughter decided to have her wedding reception here! We are so excited and so happy to have a place that we know delivers the best of everything.

Stuffed tilapia was delicious, the veal Parmesan was average. Tiramisu was good and the service was friendly.

Went for 1st time last night to see Ronnie Clinton and enjoy dinner! Fell in love! Will come back over and over! The entertainment was great, but the service and food and cocktails...out of this world!!!

The place is larger than expected, the Host was gruff & unfriendly. They seemed well staffed but that may have been an illusion. As Italian bread lovers we were disappointed the sliced bread was not hot or at least warm - along w/hard butter, spreading it was a bit frustrating. Instead it was cold & dried out (seeing the mound of pre-loaded baskets of bread, drying out, was the obvious reason). The coffee was excellent but was ignored for fill-ups of the non-mug sized cup. Was our server overwhelmed? Except for the Pastini, none of us raved about our choices although one's Chicken Parmesan looked most worthy & he who ordered pasta w/marinara was disappointed w/the sauce. Why are PASTA dinners so costly? Parking is a nightmare, traffic was literally stop/go crawling (at it's fastest) & bumper to bumper trying to find a place to park, so considering our experience, why return? January 2024 update: I should have tried the Chicken Parmesan - instead I ordered their Angel Hair option & was put off w/the odd flavor (it was also in a pool of olive oil). Like before, the bread wasn't what most would expect from an ITALIAN restaurant & even after being there awhile, the butter wouldn't spread on the "meh" bread (although both were abundant). Unlike before, we arrived minutes after opening so what's up with that meh bread? As I ended my original review, there's no reason to go back. I only agreed to go again as it was the birthday dinner choice of our celebrant.
