Beautiful, romantic decor and setting but food is pricey.
Hit or miss. The food is great if it’s warm and if the portion size isn’t small. Called in the past about the torte being grainy. Asked if it was just because it’s is gluten-free. They said it shouldn’t be grainy and that someone would call me. No one did. Today my order wasn’t ready and I finally asked them to check on it 15 minutes after when they said it would be ready. They brought it right to me. Unfortunately, it was cold and the lasagna was quite small. I can reheat pasta dishes but calamari cold is irreparable. Called about it and the guy who gave me the order also mansplained that it would be cold by the time I called. He said someone would cal me about it tomorrow. Didn’t gamble on that, drove back. I will say that they refunded my order without incident.
It was delicious from the bread & butter to the Caesar salad and the lasagna appetizer! The entire menu is gourmet and reasonably priced. You will love Amore Italian Restaurant at the East Avenue Wegmans!
As always, the food was delicious. Service was very friendly and helpful. Amore is a wonderful place to eat!!
We were excited to go to Amore given both the restaurant and Wegmans reputation. I was invited to join others for a special Father’s Day dinner who had been there before and previously had wonderful experiences. Unfortunately, I left disappointed. The atmosphere was pleasant and the seating was comfortable. The hostess and wait staff were friendly albeit slow. It took a long time to receive our meals, and a second glass of wine that one person ordered before the meal didn’t arrive until during dessert. When we mentioned this, the wine was deducted from the bill. Besides the slow service, the food, while tasty, was underwhelming. Portion sizes for soups were small and nearly everything was salty. At the end of the meal, we ordered a shot of Sambuca which should be clear and came to us cloudy. When we asked the waitress if it was Sambuca, she said that she could smell the licorice so it was. We did not drink it. And what could be worse than cold creme brûlée? This entire experience was incredibly overpriced except for the “complimentary” butter boy cookies which were delicious. I was told that this was very uncharacteristic for this restaurant and should give it another try. But, given the hefty price tag I am hesitant to do so.
