Al Forno Mediterranean Grill & Subs - UTC

We're from out of town and found out that there wasn't a large selection of Mediterranean restaurants near our area, but we found one with good reviews, so we decided to try it out. The gentleman behind the register that took our order was friendly and helpful. We ordered the beef and chicken shawarma plate with hummus and yellow rice. The meat beef and chicken both had good flavor, the rice was nicely cooked, and the hummus was tasty. The only dish we didn't enjoy was the beef kaftka dish we ordered. The meat was overcooked and quite dry. The flavor wasn't there either. I wish we would've just stuck with the shawarma plate and ordered a salad on the side.

I'm exhausted right now but I couldn't let myself pass out without stopping to give this amazing place a rave review. My brood and I were famished on the last leg of our road trip home and found this restaurant on Google. I called instead of ordering online because it was near closing time, and the lady who answered was soooo nice! She took my large order and agreed to allow me to pick it up even if I arrived a little after they'd closed. When I arrived she greeted me warmly and handed me my hot and ready order with a smile, accommodated my request for a couple of additional items without hesitation. We were so hungry we started chowing down right in the parking lot and OMG the food was DELICIOUS. My son had both a beef and chicken shawarma and said he hadn't had shawarma so well made in almost a year. My daughters gave the chicken tacos and chicken wings with fries two thumbs up. I'm the only vegetarian so I'd ordered a fajita sub, sans meat, and UGH the veggies were SO crisp and flavorful. The portions were so generous I didn't think I'd be able to eat it all but it was so good I couldn't put it down. If you haven't been, be sure to treat yourself and just GO. Order everything on the menu- it's all absolutely delicious. Vegetarian options: Some good vegetarian options are the fajita sub with no meat or any of the falafel dishes

Drove past many times and finally stoped in, and oh man, what a wonderful find. Can’t wait to go back and try something else from the menu.
