Got there at 8:15 as they advertise open till 8:30. And was greater with "we decided to close at 8 tonight".
Great food and atmosphere. Service was good. We all had a great time. Will likely return.
Fantastic fusion restaurant, their curries are mouth-watering.
Yo. Ramen. Only complaint is I need a bucket for a bowl. Ramen!!!! Best ramen in the ham!!!! Get it!!Y’all need to open for lunch!!!!
You may not need me to tell you this, but Birmingham's weakest genre on its food scene is Asian. It is very difficult to find authentic Asian food in this town. But your search ends here. Their Ramen bowl with pork belly is the closest I've found to real tonkotsu hakata ramen. Is it as good as a Tokyo noodle bar or an L.A. ramen joint? No, but it is close enough to get the job done and it will save you 20 hours on a plane. Probably our favorite thing we have had though is the Magic City Roll. As my wife likes to say, "Sushi should be sweet, spicy, creamy, and crunchy." This roll has it all. Their dishes here are good, but in my experience the flavors tend to be mild. But you can amp them up if you know what to ask for, and then they are really nice. Their Nepalese lamb curry is excellent. I prefer it with dried spices, you can ask for this as an off-the-menu extra. The Pork Belly Bowl is also pretty good. I recommend asking for a side of Korean BBQ sauce and Abhi Aioli (it is like a yum yum sauce). We have also had the Balinese Beef Rendang, which was alright. It also pairs nicely with the Korean BBQ sauce. We have also had the coconut curry soup, and it was alright, but it was a bit too bitter for my taste. Their cocktails are pretty good too, I enjoyed the Famous Warrior, but I did have to get them to add a little extra simple syrup since it was a tad strong for my taste. All in all, some of the best Asian in the area, can't wait to come back to explore the menu more.
Fire alarm went off while we were there and the food was honestly nothing too special.
It's ok. The combination and dishes seem more interesting on paper. The flavors just don't quite deliver. We had 2 different ramen dishes, a rice bowl, and sushi. They were all good but none will bring us back. The atmosphere and service were good. If we are in the area, we may try it again. But, I don't think it will be something we will go out of our way for.
Tried this place out on a recommendation, Saturday 3/12/22. It started off bad, and went downhill from there. When we got there, it was extremely cold and people were literally wearing heavy jackets and NOT taking them off. We asked why if they could turn up the heat, but it remained cold. Although the place was not terribly busy, it took awhile for the food to come. When we did get our food, it was not that good. The only reason I gave them two stars (as opposed to one), was because the place itself was pleasant.
You would be greatly disappointed if you did not try the sushi here.
Excellent food and service
