Uchi Houston

I’ve been there several times since it opened. However, I think even though the fish is fresh, every year prices just are getting more ridiculous. $400 for 2 people (each one 2 glasses of wine), and 4 dishes (nabe, salmon, hamachi, toro), is just way too much. They want to be just like if other much more lux restaurants (some with Michelin star) in Europe… but without the star.

This is one of the best sushi restaurants that I've ever been to anywhere in the world!

I am extremely disappointed in this establishment. My family and I have been dining at Uchi for years. DO NOT DINE HERE. I had made a reservation originally at 10 pm, I followed by calling the restaurant and informed them I would be a few minutes late past grace period, but my partner would arrive on time and wait for me there. The Uchi team assured me that would be just fine. I ordered my uber and was on my way, then the uchi team called me about 15 minutes later saying if the full party wasn’t there they would cancel our reservation, AS MY PARTNER IS STANDING IN FROMT OF THE HOST STAND. The MANAGER DANIEL was extremely RUDE, said it was company policy. REFUSED to acknowledge they made a mistake and told me wrong information. DID NOT apologize and said they did absolutely nothing wrong. I said, you made a mistake, how will you fix this, and he said ABSOLUTELY NOTHING and gave me a horrible attitude going back and forth with me. I informed him my partner flew into houston just for this day as we would be having a date. He said it “WAS NOT HIS ISSUE.” People like DANIEL should never work in a fine establishment like Uchi, learn costumer service. UCHI is supposed to be a highly praised restaurant, yet when they make a mistake they do nothing to appease the costumer.

Best of the best in Houston. We enjoyed our one year anniversary here and it didn’t disappoint even with our high expectations.

TI highly recommend Uchi if you're looking for an exceptional Japanese restaurant in Houston. Their dishes never fail to impress me and I always leave satisfied. Trust me, it's worth a visit! ❤️

Our server, Virginia, went out of her way to suggest gluten free items and make our kids feel special and included. Every bite was amazing.

I come here every time I'm in town. It's honestly one of the best sushi places you will find. It's perfect for date night or for a solo meal. If you're dining alone sit at the bar. Tell the bar tender what you like and your allergies if any then let them order for you. It's a great way to try new things and get the whole experience this place had to offer! Make sure to get the fried milk for a dessert. I can't tell you how many times I have come in just for this!
