Rainbow Lodge

I had been wanting to try this place, so we came here on a couples date night. We had a reservation and were seated immediately. However, it took forever to even get water brought to the table and this was literally the theme of the entire dining experience - service was extremely slow the entire night. Our server was sweet but just overwhelmingly slow. I know they had a wedding party there so perhaps that was part of the problem and not typical. We started with the Taste of the Wild, which had antelope, venison and I believe bison? All of the meat was terrific, so I opted to get antelope for my entree and requested medium rare. Unfortunately, what they brought me was medium well, and since I am not one to send food back (and they took forever to begin with) I just sucked it up and ate it. I will say the grits were pretty tasty. My husband got the filet and he said it was ok. Our friends got the trout, which she said was good, and he got the elk, which he said was ok but not as good as the sampler of antelope. The Texas Old Fashioned was a definite winner, and I am glad I got that. Overall, the meal was ok but I can honestly say I will not be back.

Beautiful place. Luke warm Coffee. Weak drinks. Tiny portions of food. Outrageous prices.

We had a great time here. We have a young daughter and she loves the outdoor area. It’s really beautiful. The staff were friendly and attentive.

LOVED the original Rainbow Lodge. Fertita took over and did their thing. Still an enjoyable evening. Higher prices for a little less than the original. Se la vie

Visited this place for our anniversary, I am not to much into wild game food but he has grown up eating wild game so it was a great experience We reserved our dinner anniversary

Portion sizes are tiny (I get it’s a fancy place) but if they are that small you’d think they would taste good. Incredible how bland each course was. The ambiance was incredible though and the staff was fine. I’d try somewhere else for this kind of money though.
