Zen Sushi

I had the pleasure of eating in Zen Sushi on Valentine's day 2024. The food was excellent, the service and the atmosphere were very good! Fish was fresh, sushi and sashimi were delicious and we really enjoyed our time and the food!

Zen Sushi is a go to for large specialty rolls! They are generous in all accounts. The sashimi and sushi rice are high quality. Great color in every fish. One thing that I can appreciate a lot is they do not load their rolls with rice. A lot of restaurants in the area will add extra rice to make the rolls seem big instead of actually offering a good amount of fish. My favorite: Kiss of an Angel roll, Sashimi Roll, Eri roll. Service and the chefs are fantastic. Friendly, quick, and they are good with large groups as well. Atmosphere is as nice or as casual as you want it to be. I’ve gone here with my wife on dates many times, dressed up and super casual. It’s a mix between everyone. So if you’re looking for a “nice casual” date then this is the perfect spot.

We have tried a few sushi places in OC, and Zen Sushi is one of our favorite. But I just downgraded the service to 3 stars because on our last visit 3 of our rolls were really late and when we inquired, the waitress told us she delivered them to the wrong table. She also didn't comp us for any of the rolls in spite of being at least 30 minutes late and disrupting our dinner. And she automatically added a 20% tip because there were 6 of us. So disappointed!

Food is great....needs an update....Definitely aging interior. It's time to update!!!

I had an outstanding lunch with my friends at Zen Sushi today. The sashimi was fresh and the grilled fish, rolls, and tempura were all delicious. I often go to Japanese restaurants, but this was my first time trying avocado tempura here. The taste was excellent. I have to give credit to Ellie for recommending delicious food and providing excellent service. I think Zen will become my favorite restaurant.

Kid-friendliness: They have kid’s menu and all servers treated my kids so kindly.
