Zambetti’s low carb options are second to none in Rockland County! Delicious , healthy, and priced great!
We've tried a few different items from Zambetti's and we've enjoyed the food - wraps, salads, soups, the pizzas, cookies. Everything seems fresh and of good quality, and it's all been tasty. However, I have a few issues with the place, too. The packaging on most of their prepared foods lists the ingredients (the cookies and muffins being noted exceptions), but not the nutritional content. That's a problem when its whole basis is low carb / diet friendly / healthy eating. Having spent plenty of time browsing health food stores like Back to Earth and A Matter of Health has also made me even more skeptical regarding some of Zambetti's nutritional claims, like the 130 calorie pizza. I've yet to see anything like that anywhere else, and I don't believe it's because Zambetti's discovered some low calorie miracle food. Product availability is an issue, too. I stop in there on occasion to pick up some of their cookies - mysterious, unlabeled, but really good. Lately it's one or two baskets out of the less popular flavors, it seems, and no one knows for sure when the other varieties will be available. "We make one or two things per day, as we need them" was the answer I got once. Well, you're out. You need them. "We should have them Monday afternoon, maybe Tuesday" was the answer another time, until I stopped in on Tuesday. Then the answer became "maybe next week". Meanwhile, with all the secrecy surrounding the product, it's not even really a "Zambetti's" product. The closely guarded secret isn't a proprietary recipe, it's where they purchase the batter from. And the nutritional content, of course. It's disappointing because I feel like their food is high quality, tasty and probably healthy, but I don't like the secrecy, being led on, or lied to.
