The mediocre review here isn’t because the food, service, or atmosphere were bad. The food we got to try was very good. However we went for the duck and weren’t able to order it. We made a dinner reservation and no where was it posted that we needed to reserve a duck ahead of time. No one contacted us to let us know. It’s a Peking duck place. You should be able to order the duck. It makes no sense. We got there for our reservation and were told no, you didn’t reserve the duck ahead of time so you can’t order it. Well now we know. It’s so dumb. Anyway now you know. Reserve the duck ahead of time. Not sure how. Maybe you call? Seems very inefficient. We ordered other things off the menu. They were all good. We sat for dinner at 7:15pm. By 9:45pm they closed and kicked everyone out of the restaurant. Literally. They asked several tables to leave even though people were still sitting and enjoying the last of their drinks. So we and the other tables left. It was abrupt and kinda strange. But otherwise we really enjoyed our meal.
Oh my gosh! This was some of the best Chinese food i’ve had in a while. It was amazing and I loved the ban ban noodles! The service was amazing. They pour your water for you, put food on your plate, ect. I loved the atmosphere and lighting! I’m very specific with my lighting, and it wasn’t too bright but not too dark. Kid-friendliness: I am a kid! And they are so sweet and give you a nice smile.
Sehr gutes Essen. Besonders die Ente ist super. Auch die Dumplings sind sehr guet. Aufmerksamer und freundlicher Service.
Highlight of San Francisco, amazing Chinese Peking Duck, and the atmosphere is brilliant.
Food was OK. Service is bad. Some dishes were better than others. Some were greasy. You have to order peking duck in advance btw. This is the higher end and higher priced location of Z & Y. The server barely talked to us nor served us. He didn’t know the dishes well and wasn’t much help in ordering. Service is super basic and not what you expect from a what is supposed to be a fine dining restaurant. They sent us the check with 18% service charge for a party of 4. They charge 20% for party of 6 and more. This is their way of saying if you are a tourist we won’t respect you. Server knows he doesn’t have to do any serving. Make no mistake, This is no hospitality establishment. Finally, We smelled cigarette smoke in the restaurant and wouldn’t you know it, the Chef was smoking in the back.
Get the duck! AND the Royal Style Grilled Lamb! Wow! We had a lot of food. All was so delicious! The side sauces were each delicious. Every detail clearly mattered to staff. Highly recommend.
