YNK Speakeasy, a small lounge nestled within the Marriott Irvine, offers an intimate setting with seating for approximately 10-12 guests. The exclusivity of the lounge adds to its charm, creating an atmosphere ideal for those seeking a more private and relaxed experience. We were staying at the Marriot Irvine and stumbled on the YNK by sheer coincidence. We were having drinks at the lobby bar, pondering where we were going to explore that night when we asked the bartender about the what was the room behind the bar and he told us that it was the Marriott's Speakeasy, YNK. We asked if we needed reservations or if can talk to the manager over there to get us in. He came back and said that the bar manager said they were booked for the night and couldn't get us in. Well I pulled out my phone and did some research and was able to secure us a reservation for 2 in the next 10 minutes. Not sure what that was about, or maybe they were trying to portray the perception of exclusivity, but oh well we got in! Reservations, conveniently available through Opentable! Tucked away discreetly behind the lobby bar, YNK Speakeasy maintains an air of secrecy and exclusivity. This positioning within the Marriott adds an element of convenience for both hotel guests and locals looking for a unique spot to unwind. The small size of the lounge contributes to an intimate and cozy ambiance, making it perfect for smaller groups or a quiet evening for couples. The bartender who is an older gentleman with beards is extremely rude, offensive and horrible to Asian customers. Do Not Recommend.

The outside bar area of the hotel had an entertainer playing music but behind the doors inside YNK you cant hear the music outside. The bartender was so patient and willing to explain parts of the drinks when I had questions. The drinks were delicious, the atmosphere was calm, and the seating was comfortable.

wasn't able to try any drinks, service was horrible. the bartender didn't seem very keen on servicing us. he went as far to suggest that I couldn't afford a drink another guest had just ordered. this was after he greeted us by stating "reservations only," which we had but he never asked, and then waiting almost 40 minutes in room the size of a walk in closet. he checked in with an obviously affluent couple in front of us multiple times.

I was out there for some business got a drink here it was pretty cozy vibes. Perfect for a small group. It is an amazing experience the bartender Nick has worked hard to be here and knows his things pretty well. The menu keeps on changing.

Nick took amazing care of us. It’s such a cool, private place to hang out and have a cocktail. My only wish is that we could have had the 49ers game on one of the screens while we were there…not with sound, but just to keep up to speed.

While it may not be a traditional speakeasy with a hidden entrance, it offers a peaceful and cozy atmosphere. During our visit, they had a Tiki theme, which wasn't my preferred category due to the use of fruit juices and flavored syrups, but luckily, they had some options without these ingredients on the menu. The highlight of our evening was Nick, the mixologist. His knowledge and skills were impressive, and he even crafted drinks for us that weren't on the menu. The only drawback was that the prices were pretty high, ranging from $20-21 per drink. Y.N.K. (You Never Know) changes their menu every few months and you'll never know what you're in for because they don't post their menu anywhere. I'm excited to return to experience new and exciting creations in the future. If you're seeking an intimate spot with top-notch mixology, this place should be on your list.
