The best kept Burmese secret in SF bay area shhh! Everything, anything you get here is going to be DELICIOUS and super affordable! I don't know how they keep it up, but I love that they do!
Note on hours: Yamo is only open for dinner. They open every day at 5:30pm except Sunday when they are closed. Google finally accepted an edit from me but I'm leaving this note here in case it gets reversed (I have tried many times to correct the hours on Google maps but Google does not accept the edits for some reason. Please don't slam Yamo if you show up for lunch and they are closed, it is not their fault that Google refuses to correct the hours.) Yamo is a great little spot where quick Burmese dishes are served at very affordable prices. Two entrees and two appetizers with tax runs about $22. Everything is extremely fresh and really tasty, and if you don't want to wait for one of the few counter seats, you can always get your food to go and eat at home or any of several nearby bars (I suggest Bender's)
Yamo may or may not have the best food, I would never know. I stopped here twice, both time they were closed when they are supposed to be open. WTH. Not a great way to run a business.
One of my favorite spots in SF. CASH ONLY! Very cool experience, mother daughter team that absolutely kill it. The open kitchen adds a nice touch.
Michelle and Mama are the best part of the city!!!! Bring cash and be respectful!!!!!!! ❤️
The food is good (and not just for the price, just good good), and if you like hole-in-the wall eateries this is it. But honestly the price is what's amazing. I mean where else can you get $6-8 bowl of noodles or fried rice, and in San Francisco of all places.
