Yami Yaki

Sweetest, kindest family- most delicious food at a great price. We were treated like family. Young(sic?) is the mama who works the front and her husband was cooking. She gave us a demo of the whole thing but also ran off a few great things on the menu, we ended up with avocado roll, dragon roll, and a stir fry. About $16 a pound to build your own stir fry which we loved to customize. Veggies were fresh and well cut. They make their own soy sauce, spicy mayo, and teriyaki sauce at three different spice levels. I cannot recommend this place anymore, such a sparkly hole in the wall!

First time here and they treated me like family. Had the veggie udon soup and a salmon roll, delicious and filling on a chilly winter evening. Excellent choice for Japanese food in Echo Park!

My first time eating here, second time for my friend, we were greated and helped immediately!! Owner is so amazing and funny! She made jokes and recognized my friend right away. We spoke for a bit while getting out plates of food. After waiting for our stir fry to cook, She made sure to ask how spicy we wanted it and if we were okay with add ons (like sesame seeds). She gave my friend a small gift of thanks for returning to the restaurant, as he told me the first time he came he fell in love with the food and wished they received more of a crowd. He was right. The food was absolutely simple and delicious! I can't wait to return again. Very affordable, unlike most places these days. Vegetarian options: Easily customize your plate of food!! Parking: The issue isn't so much about finding parking, it's mostly being able to exit. It is limited to a few spots as it's in a very small plaza and sharing space with a grocery store. Otherwise, if there is no parking, spots open relatively fast. :) Kid-friendliness: Staff is extremely sweet and kind! They always remember a reoccurring face!

Super yummy spot

This place was amazing. The owners were the sweetest and the food was absolutely to die for. I would absolutely come back for the service alone 10 out of 10 would Yami Yaki again.

ordered a couple rolls of sushi and a poke bowl and everything was so good! fish was really fresh and the folks working were sweet. cozy hole in the wall spot, that's how you know it's good food :))

Came for lunch one day, and the owner helped us order and walked us through their options. The stir fry we ordered was delicious and fresh.
