Yamato Japanese Steakhouse & Sushi Bar

Wait time was crazy we got there and there was appear alter couple there. We ordered waited 30 mins another couple came and then another 30 minutes passed before the chef came out. Notes the food was great until mid way in the chef used a white rag to corn his nose repeatedly flooding the Dane rag and cleaning his house over and over placing it in the handle of the food cart. After that I didn’t eat anymore. Cleaning your nose while cooking and not sanitizing is nasty to top it off to leave the rag near the food in the handle is even worse.

We left a 35% tip last night and everyone got excited thanking us. DO BETTER AND TIP BETTER CLARKSVILLE!!! THEY SHOULD NOT BE SO EXCITED OVER A 35% TIP!!! They are always running around like chickens with their heads cut off working hard for us, preparing everything from scratch. DO BETTER AND TIP BETTER! You act like your cornbread ain’t done in the middle if you’re that rude to people who are serving you.

I want to start by saying we arrived (2 people) around 30 minutes before closing. We didn’t realize it was so close but they assured us we were good & I saw other people arriving around the same time as us. We waited over 10 minutes to order our drinks. I had to ask someone who was cleaning up a nearby table if he knew who our server was because we hadn’t even order our drinks. He was polite & actually got our drinks for us. Our actual server yells out that she is our server but she was busy with her other table. She was so busy flirting with the men at the other table that she didn’t even take our order until they left to include literally walking them out the door. Finally, we ordered our food. Our chef comes out to start cooking only to discover that our server didn’t turn on the grill. Our chef informed us he would be back in about 5 minutes while it heated up. As far as the experience with the chef, he barely spoke to us. He didn’t put on a show. Nothing special with the egg, the onion was already in the veggies, etc. The best way I can explain our cooking show was no different than watching someone cook at a Waffle House. Very disappointing. Our server came over once to inform me that there was no sweet tea for a refill & I needed a refill. Not once were we asked how our food was. Don’t waste your money!

The building is small and you are very close to other people/tables. The food is excellent
