Rude staff, food uneven in quality, few covid precautions. We dined here regularly over the years. Quality has gone down hill. We thought we give Yakitori a second try on 12/19/23. It was worse than our 2021 review. Poor quality sushi, baby bok chow buried in oil and unedible, rude staff, unclean interior.
My boyfriend and I have dined at this restaurant at least once a week (sometimes twice a week) for the last two years; and at least every other week since 2018 - 2020. We usually get waitress Christie. Last time I was there with my daughter on 12/26/23, waitress Christie refused to provide me with my printed receipt before I paid the bill. I asked her for the receipt twice, but she kept on just repeating the total amount due and brought the credit card machine to the table because she was only interested in getting paid. I trusted waitress Christie and gave her my credit card. But, when I received the text message with my printed receipt , I noticed she charged me an extra $3 per each sushi roll I ordered just because I requested the rolls with no sauce and no spice. We have been going to this restaurant for years and we have NEVER been charged for no spice and no sauce before. In addition, waitress Christie never mentioned of the charge or new policy in advance when I placed the order. I called and spoke with some individual that identified himself as manager John, who refused to reverse the charge or credit our next bill. I’m not sure if that was the same manager that sees me and my boyfriend walk-in and expending about $7,000 Plus/year in this restaurant. Guess what: They will NEVER see us again at their restaurant. Bad business practice. They rather lose good, steady customers that supported them during the COVID-19 pandemic and slow summer months in Florida than refund our credit card and explain their new policy in advance. If you go to this place do NOT pay your bill without your printed receipt and compare the charges to the menu because they do change them without you noticing. I have proof of that and will take a lie detector if necessary.
When we lived in boca raton for years we frequented this place once or twice a week so upon returning to town for the holiday it was the first spot we hit. I was beyond disappointed. Slow service, my rolls were falling apart and my husband didn't care for his meal.
Everything declined! The fish tasted old, the place is always dirty- chair, tables… When you enter in the place smells like a dirty grease kitchen. I used to go every week, but the place is becoming gross.
