Wild Plum Tea Room

A great lunch today at the Wild Plum Tea Room! Be sure to make reservations well in advance of your visit by texting the number on their website! Kacy, who owns and operates the restaurant, makes you feel welcome. The atmosphere is inviting and serene. The Wild Plum Tea Room is a place for leisurely dining and enjoying all the delicious food and drinks on offer. We enjoyed the tea (both iced and hot), the muffins and jelly, the lobster pie, and the apple cake. What a great experience! Can’t wait to return!

Amazing hidden lunch spot.

Tried to contact this place multiple times about getting a reservation. Never was reached back out to by the company.

The owner refuses to return text messages or phone calls. I called several times and texted. I stopped by in person and there were 6 people in the entire place at 11:30 AM. She said she only texts if she can accommodate you and that she doesn't answer phone calls. She said she is full for the entire month of October, yet the place was empty. She was very curt and had no explanation as to why the place was empty but she couldn't seat us.

Bryan and I have been enjoying Kacy's establishment for over 15 years. Every time we're in Townsend we make it a priority to have lunch at the Wild Plum.

Visiting the Wild Plum Tea Room was the highlight of our trip to Gatlinburg! We felt extremely lucky to get a reservation and learned that only one person manages the reservations, serving, and cooking. Although the current reservation system is frustrating for some, it saddens me to see low reviews because of it. She explained that her mother is ill and she is only one person. The whole meal was an experience! From the classic Wild Plum tea, served iced or hot, all the way to dessert, everything was an absolute 10! The cabin itself is adorable and we loved sitting out on the screened in porch listening to the stream as we dined. Each and everything on the menu is made from scratch from seasonal ingredients. I would 100% recommend to anyone and cannot wait to return in the future.

Please know the Wild Plum tea room is now run solely by one person, so dining is by reservation only and they are only open Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. They are truly the best restaurant in town and they are the reason we come to Gatlinburg! We so appreciate the quality and care that goes into taking care of their customers and are glad they are able to remain open although limited. Please be sure to make your advanced reservation and enjoy this hidden gem in the mountains!
