Wife was graving some hand cut noodles and wanted to try this place out. Small restaurant serving up some authentic flavors. Got the Lamb Malatang, wife got the Spicy Cumin Lamb in Sauce. Both were delicious and the noodles had the texture that you only get from fresh made noodles. The malatang at medium spicy is a good medium, and the broth had a nice savory flavor. Also got the cold Numbing Spicy Beef, while not as numbing as I expected from szechuan peppercorns, it was still tasty and would get it again.
Great hole in the wall spot. Atmosphere is not fancy which is how I like it. Limited seating. Limited vegan options but great flavor. Not sure why but the owners kept bringing us dishes to try.
wild ginger just is a solid spot to eat at. the length and texture of the hand pulled noodles are so satisfying to eat, and the place is pretty small so you can hear the loud smacking sounds of the chef making the noodles in the kitchen! so cool!!! my friends and I actually got a cold noodle dish on the house when we visited for dinner :) they are just so kind like that! the spicy dishes are actually not really that spicy which doesn't hit the spot for me exactly but still super enjoyable. i remember when they first opened like 6+ years ago, it was pretty spicy for me so either my spice tolerance has really gone up (it definitely has over the years), they toned down the spice for the customers, or both. either way, each time I come I leave full and satisfied!
Listen..........................sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeesh. Everything was bomb. No photos cuz i ate it all. I would encourage you to support them because they seem really appreciate of any business right now as well. And their chili oil is
My favorite restaurant in Alameda
The servers were great and responsive. We got the pork dumplings in sauce, spicy cumin lamb noodle in soup, and liang pi. They made a great combination as the liang pi cold noodles were a refreshing balance to the more flavorful and oilier noodle soup and dumplings.
I've only had takeout from here so cannot speak to the service/atmosphere, but the food is really good and spicy. Vegetarian options: Overall the menu isn't exactly what I think of as vegetarian friendly but the spicy dandan noodles are good and don't contain meat (afaik). I would call to make sure it hasn't touched any meat if you have allergies or are otherwise very stringent about the vegetarian aspect.
