Whiskey River Steakhouse & Saloon

This restaurant replaced Strokes, which had shut down about two years ago. Very friendly and efficient staff. Food was good, if not a little pricey. Drinks were average. Very clean place. What makes it 5 stars is the service, which is fabulous. Highly recommended. Parking: Located directly in front of restaurant.

This place has super burgers & BLTs & Patty Melts. The steak sandwich can be tough. Fries are good. Onion rings used to be, but they've begun to do battering & they don't come out so well. The service has always been superb. It's got cute bathroom decor, an outside covered, enclosed eating area for large parties. Very good choice for river-dining.

Waitress did not want to give us the time of day! Someone else served our food to us that was NOT good, and we had to go to the bar for a refill for ourselves. Worst service, will NOT be back!

Great selection of foof and drinks and great service.

This was the worst experience I’ve had in a long time at a restaurant. It took almost 15 minutes for the bartender/server to take our food order and answer our questions about the menu because she was too busy gossiping with a couple at the bar. Even though she was standing 6 ft from us. Then she couldn’t even answer any of the questions about the menu. Then it took another 15 minutes to get our soup and salad. (That was not shepherds pie, at best it was chicken noodle soup) another 10 min goes by and our drinks are empty and no refills. another server comes over and plops a side dish down in front of us, (not our food but a side dish we ordered.) No silverware, no napkins, nothing else but a tiny little dish. Didn’t even say I’ll be back with your food or anything. 5 minutes goes by and we can’t even eat the side dish with our hands?? It’s now been 40 minutes that we have been seated. The place has cleared out, and only one other table remains. We yell to the back trying to get someone’s attention to figure out what’s going on. It takes 3 times yelling and flagging her down. We could see and kinda hear that she was in the back gossiping with another sever. Our server/bartender then proceeds to yell at us that we need to give them a minute and they will get to us, all while she is bringing our food out finally. 50 min after we walked in. Only 5 people in the place. seriously? You’re yelling at us as customers because you’ve been lacking all evening at giving any good service. We finally got our food. AGAIN no silverware! We ordered salmon and baked potatoes with all the fixings for $21 each. We got a pórtale that looked under cooked with only butter and salmon looked like something from Costco that had been microwaved. At that point we walked out. I’ll never go back. The staff is unfriendly, the level of service is awful and the food isn’t worth the price. Did I mention. I had to get my own napkins from the bar too. Save yourself time, the gas to drive here and the headache. Go anywhere else.

My husband and I checked in to look at the menu. We opted on the Ahi Tuna Wrap. I was worried they’d cook it too long and they absolutely nailed it. Prices are average, what you’d expect to pay in this time of whatever we’re in. Good selection of beer, wine and spirits. Definitely coming back for dinner.

Staff is great!!!

Great fun place. Stopped for lunch on the way to Phoenix. Great sandwiches and drinks. Lots of locals at 2 PM on a weekday. Everyone knew everyone. Language may not be family friendly though. Kid-friendliness: Bar patrons can talk about a lot of f-up things.
