This is not a restaurant. This is a hotel bar that serves attractive, nicely plated but astonishingly bland food that will make you desperate for hot sauce or even some salt and pepper shakers on the table. As hotel restaurants go, if you didn't want to go anywhere and desired a trendy place to sit and have a drink, this place deserves five stars. But if you find yourself in San Diego hungry and wanting some tasty food within walking distance, head over to Jack in the Box, which is where we went after seeing the positive reviews for Westerly and then making a valiant attempt to eat the beautiful, expensive, but frankly unbelievably tasteless food there. I don't know if I've ever been so disappointed in a culinary experience. Do not make the same mistake we did. Do not choose to go to Westerly. If you end up there, relax and have a nice drink, but do yourself a favor and do not eat there.
While the Westerly is a hotel restaurant and prices and decor reflect that captive audience, this is an excellent choice even when you are in a city that has some great food! Everything we tried was yummy, especially the flat bread. Service was top notch every time we ate there and refills were always very quick. If it’s nice out and the doors to the courtyard are open it’s lovely - but it might get loud on trivia nights. Parking could be a challenge but there should be some street options in this safe area.
This is a large divey -ish vibe meaning there's a lot of seating and tables but tiny bar area have a tread the food yet. I will update later.
2 Sterne gibt es für das Personal sowie das Ambiente. Ansonsten stimmt hier das Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis leider so gar nicht. Total überteuert und dazu eine eher unterdurchschnittliche Qualität der Speisen!
First off ... It's not the WESTERLY! The hands have changed over to "Crafted Culture and I must start by saying that this is what I called "Unorthodox Fare" the food wasn't bad, but it wasn't GOOD either. Will I be returning? NO. I will say you go there thinking your getting what's on the WESTERLY menu and the waiters job is to "sell" to keep you there to "try" this food. He was great at it I must say. What was interesting is that he stopped us from ordering more... saying this was enough so far. He was right We had had enough! Lol Parking: First 2 hours free with validation. If you're not staying at the hotel
For a "hotel restaurant" the food was excellent. I was hesitant to go here, but I was wrong. The scallop and shrimp tart was the star of the evening.
