Update on 3/9: The day after I had left this review, I was contacted by Welton Room and they apologized for the mishap. They showed me they had sent an email about what oils they use, but it never actually sent. They invited me to come back in for cocktails on them. My friend and I went back and they were so kind and helpful and comp’d our drinks for the troubles. Very much appreciated, and the drinks were 11/10! Will definitely be back. Old review: I wanted to love this place, but we unfortunately did not have a high-quality experience. As a summary before I dive in: would recommend going to the Monkey Bar next door for their cocktails (or get them in Welton Room), but don’t bother with the food. My main qualm was that I emailed, messaged on Instagram, and wrote in my reservation comment that I would need to know what oil they cook with/what foods to avoid with a seed oil intolerance. I never received a response and when I got there had to ask/they had no idea. It took many back and forths to explain what seed oils were/trying to figure out which dishes have them (they fry their food in canola, but were ultimately able to cook everything else in olive oil). It was a giant headache, but I’m glad eventually it was figured out and I left without an upset stomach. The food was good, but for the price it was not worth it. We enjoyed the burrata and mushroom pasta the most. While our server was nice, it took foreverrrr to get/order anything. We were initially only given one menu for a table of 3, and with the back and forth about the oils, we didn’t get to order for a while. The place was not overly crowded yet we ended up being there for 3 hours… We had to flag someone else down to get our bill. The cocktails were outstanding/I would want those again! The Monkey Bar (their sister location next door) would be my rec for just getting cocktails, or just order cocktails at Welton Room and expect for it to be slow service/don’t bother with trying to eat dinner. Dietary restrictions: It was like pulling teeth trying to get accurate information, made me very nervous. In the end they ended up figuring out what I could/could not eat, but only because I was super diligent and pushy.
Great vibe, eclectic menu for both food and drinks.
Excellent brunch experience, we’ll definitely be back in the evening. Drinks were creative and delicious, and adorably presented. French omelette, house made breakfast sausage, and focaccia were all outstanding. Service was friendly and accommodating. All around great!
Classy, Smooth, Very inviting, Just sat down for a IPA real quick $16. Everybody was very welcoming. Diversity in the menu. A must try
5% fee alert! Here's another place that surprises you with a 5% on the receipt. I don't care if it was disclosed in some fine print at the bottom of the toilet in the left-most stall of the men's restroom (or wherever you put it). Just pay your employees more, raise your prices, and make a big deal about it. The deception just makes people not want to come back. We probably won't.
Very impressive menu of small bites. We went as we’d heard good things about the specialty cocktails but the food was excellent, truly. We simply kept ordering as we wanted to try as much as possible - well done, Welton. Great date spot if you want to impress a foodie. :)
