Char kway noodles dish is filling, flavorful and freshly made. Also had the pandan croissant. Great savory pastry.
A little bit hard to find at first because it’s on the right as soon as you walk into the shop (Royal Blue Grocery) and you don’t realise it’s there. But the food is 100% authentic Malaysian and brings back memories of what my old man used to cook. Ordered the seafood char kway Teoh. The cook’s son Alex was also a great to talk to and gave me a bit of insight into growing up in Austin.
Insanely good Malaysian food. Must visit if you’re checking out Austin. It doesn’t really have indoor seating so get takeout if it’s raining .
Wow, superb vegan entree that turned much into a feast.
Food was only ok. Felt like it had been defrosted and sitting for quite awhile. Was very bland for Malaysian food. The achar was good and I was glad they included it. I would ask for them to punch it a up a notch flavor wise and maybe use some of grandmas flavors. Had high hopes for the beef Rendang and it wasn’t terrible but just lacking salt and the flavor. No spice! It was like they used half the spices and coconut milk. Nasi Lamak was also disappointing and weird with chicken. Would love Nasi Goreng and other traditional stuff too. Please and thank you! Will try again to see if they improve.
10/10 recommend this place. It was a little hard to find as it’s located within Royal Blue Grocery. You order via a QR code and chef Wee cooks fresh for you. I’ve never had Malaysian food before and I’m so glad I decided to try it. Chef Wee also came and sat down with me to ask how I liked the food. It was a nice personal touch. Highly recommend!
I got confused by the photo of a gas station . This is now inside Royal Blue Grocery.
