Watr at the 1 Rooftop

We went to WATR today for lunch. She had the skirt steak, it was delicious and cooked perfectly. My problem with that plate is it doesn’t come with any sides at all. $55 gets you the steak and that is all. I had the burger with truffle fries. The fries were very good, burger was just ok. It wasn’t the biggest and flavor was lacking. We each had an alcoholic drink. They came in rocks-sized plastic cups and were about $25 each!! That’s an astounding rate for something so skimpy. I chose the restaurant for its view and unique atmosphere. It’s a beautiful building and the vibe was on point, but what left me with a bad taste in my mouth was the fact that they wouldn’t allow us to walk back by the pool to actually see the view. I was not happy about that at all. As it stands, the restaurant table views are largely obscured, so don’t expect to see too much. At the end of the day, $172 (which includes a 19% service fee and 2% fee for the kitchen) for 2 plates and 2 drinks without a view was hefty and I’m not so sure I can recommend this restaurant to my friends.

Go for the atmosphere. Sushi was good. Cocktails were fine, but overpriced. Our server Camelia was great but the hosts not so much and the bartenders basically ignored us.

I visited here with my partner for brunch - one of the best rooftop restaurant I have been to. From the service to the food to the atmosphere: it was amazing. The sushi and drinks were heavenly, the views were gorgeous and the entertainment from the DJ was relaxing. 100% recommend!

Incredible experience! Visiting from New York, and had such a great time. Writing this review to give a shout out to Dwayne, he was such an amazing server, with great recommendations and 10/10 service. 100% coming back next time! Thanks Dwayne!!

Location and atmosphere are good. Our server was good. The food is not so good. Our rolls tasted of vinegar (rice vinegar??) and some of the other dishes were bland. Truffle fries were the table favorite. The deserts was very good. There are only three options and we had two of them. Very good indeed. The place is quite kid friendly - I saw a number of strollers in addition to our own young kids. Didn't see any evidence of a dress code. One lady had a football jersey on and a few guys were in jeans and a T-shirt. The cost for 2 adults and 2 kids was $350 with 19% tip built in. However the server said that that is split across all the staff (which is how tips work...) and encouraged me to tip him directly as well. So I ended up spending almost $400.

Mi experiencia? PESIMA. La segunda vez que vengo a este lugar con mi pareja y a mi me piden PASAPORTE. Tengo 31 años. Mi pareja es menor que yo. A mi me piden pasaporte y a el no. Segundo, el manager me dio la respuesta mas ABSURDA que escuché en toda mi vida y sobre todo que tengo experiencia tanto en hoteleria como en restaurantes. Es decir se como funciona todo esto. Pero jamás me paso. Pedi a la server hablar con su manager. El manager se acerca sin mirarme a los onos sino al cielo (justo el dia de eclipse) capaz estaba transitando algun retiro espiritual con el mismo. Quien sabe…. Pero me dijo que mi DNI no servia (aunque figurara que nací en 1993) que necesita el pasaporte FISICO, ni siquiera la fotografia del pasaporte me servia para reconocer que soy yo la persona. Ridículos totales. La peor respuesta y el peor servicio en todas sus facetas.

Pure awesomeness. Environment was inviting and the rooftop view of the ocean was the cherry on top. I personally loved the tempura veggies and the chicken thigh dish was delish. The brusselsprouts did not disappoint and paired well with my frozen cocktail. I recommend trying this place out. Dietary restrictions: They asked prior to seating my group of any food allergies.
