Delicious pasta and exceptional service!!
Food was awesome. Service was great. Staff very gracious as in any Japanese restaurant. Place was comfortable and warm on very cold day. Lovely room.
Our visit to Wasuta Pasta was an adventure in search of a hidden gem, but unfortunately, it turned out to be more of an exploration of GSM flavors rather than the gastronomic delight we had hoped for. Optimistic and intrigued by the menu offerings, we eagerly selected the Sakura Shrimo & Shirasu with Onsen Tamago Squid Ink Spaghetti and the Black Garlic Oyster Mushroom Bacon with Onsen Tamago, paired with a Coedo Yuzu Pale Ale to kick off our dining experience. Regrettably, our excitement was quickly dampened by the minuscule portion sizes that left us feeling unsatisfied and craving more substance. Hoping to salvage the meal, we placed our final order for the Mentaiko Carbonara, but it failed to redeem the dining experience. The dish lacked the expected richness and depth, falling short of the mark for a satisfying carbonara. An additional caution for patrons seated at the high top tables: beware of the baseboard heating beneath. In an unfortunate mishap, attempting to utilize the under-table hook resulted in some items melting due to the unexpected heat. Furthermore, it's worth noting that accessibility may pose a challenge for some patrons, as there is no elevator available on-site. This lack of accommodation could potentially deter individuals with mobility issues or those requiring assistance from fully enjoying their dining experience. In summary, Wasuta Pasta's concept may hold promise, but our visit left much to be desired. From the underwhelming portion sizes to the lackluster flavors, our thirst remained unquenched, the experience failed to live up to the expectations of a hidden gem. With improvements in portion sizes and flavor execution, Wasuta Pasta could potentially elevate itself to a true culinary treasure. However, until then, it remains a culinary venture best approached with caution.
Such a nice shop and the pasta was so tasty!! Like you can taste the effort made to make it! And the service was great! We asked about what inspired the shop and got a good story…:) I recommend the specials they have!
Staffs were accommodative when we arrived without reservation. Great service. Yummy pasta. We enjoyed our dinner.
Very good service. Good pasta, but a bit pricey. The Matcha tiramisu was very good, must try.
We got the Crab Cream Croquette which tasted so perfect. The softness and crunch of the croquette was immaculate; plus the included sauce was yummy too 10/10. Wagyu Beef Carpaccio was alright- I’ve tasted better but it isn’t bad here 7.5/10. The Scallop Uni Cream was my favourite that was 10/10. The flavour of the Rigatoni Miso Bolognese wasn’t that good. The sauce was a bit watery and it just didn’t have a special flavourful taste to it 5/10. The Shimeji Wafu & Bacon was my family’s favourite. The texture of the noodles were pretty good and it wasn’t overpowering with flavours so it’s good if you prefer lighter tastes 8.5/10. Personally, the Pulled Pork Ragu was pretty similar to the Bolognese, but my brother really liked it 7/10. Dessert was my favourite part of this meal. We got the Matcha Kinako Tiramisu which came pretty fast. It was so delicious and soft, it wasn’t too sweet or heavy so it was so perfect. The matcha powder sprinkled on top had the perfect bitterness too. Toffee Pudding w/ Matcha Ice Cream was very good as well. It was sweeter than the Tiramisu which was no problem. The combination of the cold matcha ice cream and the warm toffee pudding was very very yummy. The wait time for the food was around 10 minutes or less which was pretty good, but I think it is because we also came at a later time (7 pm).
