Vue Rooftop

We came to Vue to enjoy the views and check out the espresso martinis. They were actually really good! Our desire to have a full meal there was mitigated by the reviews so we just stuck to a couple of appetizers which included the hummus, absolutely fantastic, and the calamari, which was a little lackluster. Service was OK but I really don’t care for the constant need to take away my plate while I’m still working on it, I mean repeatedly, and it was obvious I was still working on it, especially with the expensive prices. I also don’t like the automatic charge in gratuity or as everyone likes to call it “service fee” because I feel like it determines the service before I can actually experience it but overall the views were amazing… Onto the next.

Staying in the hotel we decided to visit the bar. The view is fantastic and offers a great views of the White House, Mall and other monuments. It is rather expensive and the door staff can be somewhat rude but I think this may be due to how busy they are at times however the bar staff were very friendly and helpful Also check the opening times on the first night we arrived Wednesday it was shut at 10pm and it says online it shuts at midnight!

If you haven’t been it’s a must! The view is spectacular. I’m a local and haven’t seen one Iike this. Reservations are probably a good idea. I went on a Monday and it was busy. We started off drinks at the bar to kill time and the menu had many cocktails to choose from. Once we got seated the flavor of the Burrata was delicious and I had the Sea Bass, good portion and really good. My friend had the pork chop and it was well seasoned and a good size portion as well! Vibes were on point but again could not get over the view on a beautiful evening!

You need to watch your bill very Carefully here. They add all types of charges that aren’t disclosed when you first sit down or make the reservation. I completely understand this place will be a little pricier based on the view but adding extra charges that they “claim” will be taken off is something they do here often. Y’all be careful
