Stunning wine bar with amazing happy hour deals and delicious appetizer options.
Busy night with live music. Service was super slow as they were understaffed, but we had a fun time regardless. Food and drink were just what we wanted. Dietary restrictions: Had goat cheese options for charcuterie board.
We stopped by here for a quick bite and drink before our dinner reservation. Since timing was tight, we requested our cheque upfront. That cheque never came, nor did the bread to accompany the charcuterie board.. It took asking an additional three times. The food was generally fine. Great location with lively music.
I've been to Key West many times, and somehow missed out on Viv, but I'll be a regular during future visits. Excellent wine selection, and good food with particular awesome charcuterie boards. It's tiny, so reservations are highly recommended.
Really, really enjoyed Viv. I’m from mostly San Francisco and Manhattan, where there are several very nice French wine bars, but I live in Miami now and this is the first really nice one I’ve found in South Florida. Loved the wine selection, the French sausage/tomato/potato dish, the mixed green salad was very inventive and I added a tasty charcuterie of Brie and Chorizo. So much else to try. Highly recommend it. UPDATE Aug2022: have been back half dozen more times. Still terrific. Menu has expanded to include full entrees, also delicious. Charcuterie/cheese plate is fantastic (girlfriend likes them better than even in NYC, where she lives). Julie behind bar is sooo nice and knowledgeable. Really one of my fav places in all of Florida. UPDATE May 2023: one of the best restaurants in all of Florida. Not even kidding. UPDATE January 2024: suggestions to order: - Italian Canapé - ANY of the boards - Cucumber Salad - people swear by the Duck Salad
We had the best breakfast at the connected crepery and it was terrific so we wanted to try the attached bistro for dinner. Our expectations were high given the excellent breakfasts... what a disappointment!! Beef bourguignon tasted like Ditty Moore with a splash of cheap wine. The beef filet was Shoe Leather!! The meat trio wasn't edible and smelled like a barnyard covered in grease. My wife says I'm too critical but I don't think so.
Wednesday nights often have live music
My husband (eats non-veg) and I (vegetarian) thoroughly enjoyed our true French dinner experience at VIV. We loved everything about it. The lovely lady who served us gave us a hug on our way out! Definitely will return! Vegetarian options: Cheese, eggs, vegetables, fruit, possibly mushrooms. Homemade sourdough bread. Really delicious!
