The food is good and the service is outstanding!
The food was so delicious. The atmosphere was great and our server JAMAL is the best. He was so nice kind and informative. You have to try this restaurant.
Big thanks to Jamal for his excellent service and food selection recommendations. Great experience!
Ordered mothas grits through Uber eats, they forgot the entire item. Received side not the main. How do you forget the biggest order on the ticket smh. Dissatisfied
About those grits…. Don’t think about it just go, sooo worth it! DeAdrian was my server, amazing! The vibes, the customer service, and the quality and taste of food was the absolute best. Will definitely recommend to everyone.
Omg this place is everything I read it was. I ordered the afta church plate which comes with 4 chicken wings mac & cheese and collard greens. I added cornbread because it doesn't come with the meal. And I had a strawberry margarita. When I say everything was delicious! The chicken was crispy just like I like it, the greens were seasoned to perfection, the mac & cheese taste like yo mamas and this corn bread was so sweet and good with some type of drizzle on top. My drink was great as well. If you want some good seasoned soul food try this place, It's worth the risk.
Everyone is was so friendly the host and our server/bartender was so nice and the food was fresh to order we dined in
I’m at the stage in life where I don’t want or need many things; instead I seek new experiences. An overnight business trip brought a co-worker and me to Atlanta from the West Coast. I have a friend who used to live in ATL, so I asked her for some recommendations for dining options that wouldn’t be accessible nearer to home. One of the options she suggested was Virgil’s Gullah Kitchen. We got off the plane late and and were very hungry. I pitched this as our best option to my co-worker, and he went along with it in a skeptical but good-natured way. When we walked in, Malik the bartender greeted us, seated us at the bar, and made me a cocktail called “Mother’s Juice”. It was great. He then was very patient with us as we asked questions about the menu. He answered our questions knowledgeably, and gave us sincere feedback on our menu choices. We had the cornbread, fried okra, Gullah egg rolls, Smothered Skrimp, and Smothered Poke Chops and Greens. I know there was a lot of food served to millions of people in the greater ATL area tonight, but I swear no two people enjoyed their dinner more than we did. The food was phenomenal! The manager, Tanisha, made the meal even more enjoyable. She checked on us regularly, answered all of our questions, and gave us a great explanation and understanding of what Gullah culture and food are. I could not speak more highly of this establishment. Even the sweet tea was perfect. What an amazing experience.
