Place was dead on a Monday night. Only had one drink (margarita) and was rather good, but I feel the main attraction here is the atmosphere. Definitely want to take advantage of the video/vcr rentals in the future. I’m of an age that I’m the target demographic for a place like this. Curious how older/younger generations view it.
I’ve been really enjoying Alamo theaters Video Vortex since it opened in Wrigleyville a few months ago. I haven’t yet seen a movie inside but have been renting DVDs and taking them home to watch. It’s nostalgic, almost like a Blockbuster video store— and the rental is free of charge. I haven’t tried the food yet but you can order from your seat in the theater. The staff are all very friendly as well.
This is the fifth location in the country and the first one here. What's good about this place is you can rent movies for free. Ahh!
