Victor's Cafe Cuban Restaurant

Showed up right at opening after an early AM flight and this was our first meal in NYC of the trip. Atmosphere was perfect, service was attentive without being overwhelming. Food? Wow, delicious. Cuban eggs bene for me and tostones and empanadas for the wife. All amazing. Thanks for kicking off this trip with a great meal to fuel our city wanderings!

Unser Besuch ist schon eine Weile her (Oktober 2023), aber unser Sohn schwärmt immer noch von dem Fleisch, das er nach einer kleinen Beratung bekommen hat! So etwas haben wir hier in Deutschland noch nie gegessen! (Das Foto ist leider sehr unscharf, ich glaube mich zu erinnern, dass es "Churasco" oder so ähnlich hieß) Unser Essen war auch unglaublich lecker! Der Service war so aufmerksam, dass man sich immer wie ein Star fühlte. Es ist ein bisschen teurer als sonst in New York, aber zu Recht! Hier ist einfach alles super! Wir haben mit 3 Personen ohne Reservierung ohne Probleme einen Platz bekommen. Übrigens kann es nicht schaden, sich etwas "schicker" zu kleiden. ;-)

Food was good but prices were high for basic breakfast/brunch items...even for NYC.

Best food in town

The food, the food, the food was bland. I ordered the Salmon Carnaval which came with rice and beans. My man ordered Ropa Vieja with shredded beef. This is food you could eat a casual dining setting or at home as it is only rice, beans and meat. The beans were bland and flavorless. The white rice taste old and was sticky. I also ordered a sangria which was weak to its core, not a drop of red wine. I would never eat here again or recommended it. The service is decent. Nothing over the top tho. If I want Cuban food, or similar, I would go to another restaurant and pay a fraction of the price.
