Via Baci

After speaking with the manager Amy about my concerns and the experience, my friends and I went in for dinner last night and I have to say, it was top notch, I can now change this to a 5 star all around for the review. The staff and service was what we had always previously experienced at Via Baci. I am so happy that it’s back to that. Amy thank you for speaking with me. Origianl: My friends and I have been coming here pretty regularly for the past year or so and the customer service has always been great and above and beyond until lately. I can’t remember the waitresses name I had a couple weeks ago but she was just rude and you could totally tell she didn’t want to be there. Never refilled our sodas, and just would get irritated when you would try and ask a question. I had family in town this weekend and wanted to take them to dinner and in hopes that the bad service was a one time thing, I made reservations for 5pm on Sunday the 14th. We got there about 20 minutes early and were able to be seated right away. The two people at the hostess stand were just plain rude and not friendly at all. Our waitress Shelbi acted like she was horrified that a child was seated in her section. She was very unfriendly, spent most of her time flirting with some guy at the bar. But the second she had to interact with someone in her section it was like a stone cold atmosphere hit her. We at first had said no to desert so she brought our check, but then my niece asked for dessert so we asked to see a menu and she visibly sighed and you could tell she was upset that she had to do her job. Even noticed that she was the same way to the two ladies dining next to us when they were asking some questions about a couple of the pasta dishes and what she would recommend. It’s so sad that this is happening. My friends and I love Via Baci, but the service is making me want to not go back. Please fix it.

**Please see attached menu accurate as if April 2023 Food 4/5 Food pictured is Chicken Parmesan and Baked Salmon. My wife enjoyed her salmon quite a bit. I had the Chicken and overall pretty good. Pasta was cooked well and the sauce was tasty. Chicken was a little tasteless, but overall it was a good dish Service 5/5 Excellent service! Was greeted with a smile and taken directly to a table. We had a reservation and a table ready. Servers were very friendly and kept my drink full. Restaurant appearance and vibe: 5/5 Very clean, spotless even. Wall decor was cool. Overall just a very friendly vibe Price: Fair, 15-25 on average TLDR: Pretty good food in a great location with excellent service. Would come back

3/1/23 - I arrived at 11am (per the restaurant hours listed on Google) only to find the restaurant had changed their hours. I am assuming they saw me take a picture as I checked back just now and the correct hours are listed. However, Google states that Via Baci changed the hours of operation 5 days ago… so I am not sure how I still saw 11am as the opening time as of this morning. Maybe Via Baci had to approve of the change? Anywho, I was meeting a friend here for lunch and we had a good time. Each of us got a pizza - an Enzo and a Vesuvius. Both were good, but I felt that the sauce was lacking in flavor ever so slightly. Also, to me, this was not a traditional Neapolitan pizza with a thin bottom and a bubbly, airy crust - it was more just a thin crust pizza. Overall, a good pizza. Good atmosphere and good service, but it was a little chilly in the restaurant this morning. If coming for lunch, I would definitely recommend coming right when they open or making a reservation as all tables were filled when we left around 1pm. Recommend for a causal business lunch or chill date night.

2nd time in 2 weeks. Love the Brussels sprout salad. Great atmosphere and the kitchen view shows the talent and hard work there. Bar service and table service are friendly. Tonight's special: spaghetti carbonara with poached eggs, bacon was AMAZING!!

1st timer here. They obviously know who the customer is because when you walk in the door, they drop everything to greet you. We had two of their pizzas. Wow! So different than the normal pizza. Great job!

18 months later, we revisited the restaurant and had a much better experience. We again tried the ravioli in brown butter sauce, and while it was very good (which is a drastic improvement over last time), I still don't think they should call it a brown butter sauce. It still tastes mostly of white wine. Brown butter is butter and often cheese. But regardless it was very tasty and I'd get it again if the portion size was bigger. We also tried a salad, which was great. So, all in all, I would not hesitate to recommend the place now. I'm glad things improved.

A bit of east coast bias here but my wife and I eat at Via Baci probably 6-10 times a year for the past 3 years, and coming from New England, this is one of the better restaurants in the area. Service is usually very good, as is prices especially during happy hours. This is not your typical grub food but definitly a higher quality. It can get busy but that shows you how popular it is and some of the servers have been there a long time which for us tell you something. No, they don't change the menu but there are plenty of pizza options.
