So glad we got here before they close next month. I've always enjoyed coming here for date night and reccomend reservations. I'm giving 5 stars across the board from past visits too, but they were busy and short staffed so we waited for the server longer than usual. Also it was chilly and they don't have enough heat lamps to keep everyone comfortable. Given they were short staffed and unfortunately closing in May I'm giving them grace. The food is excellent, full of flavor. We had hot tea, ciabatta, baked ricotta, osso buco, seafood tagliatelle & tiramasu + espresso. It will be sad to see this intuition of Larchmont close. I hope whomever takes over the lease gives us something great!
I had a reservation at 8 PM. We were greeted by the hostess at 8 PM and sat immediately, but the server did not attend to our table until I got up at almost 8:30 PM to ask the hostess if someone can take our order. The hostess came over to take our order, and then a server came 10 minutes after that to tell us that the items that we wanted were no longer available. At no point was there ever an apology offered or some sort of service recovery. We got up to leave the restaurant at 8:40PM, and only then did the hostess apologize. To also witness two other tables who sat after we were sat not only be provided drink but also meal service, it felt as if we were being blatantly ignored - dare I say for being young Latinos. As a professional in the service and hospitality industry myself, I found this level of service appalling, and also rude. This was my first time in the restaurant after hearing about it, but I have to say it will be my last.
A little pricey for hash & eggs and the hash was very salty. This brunch on Saturday cost me $32.00 BtW I for got the $8.00 Bisquick.
For the price, it’s somewhat mediocre. My biggest complaint is the waiter being far too casual by calling me, “Boss.” I can’t stand that slang. Please just call me sir. And to top off my failed quest for a quiet little breakfast, two bussers casually leaned against a table nearby and yammered on for 10 minutes. I couldn’t wait to finish my meal and leave.
I love this place, great atmosphere, friendly staff and food was amazing. Looking forward to our next visit.
I’m rarely profiled in a major city like Los Angeles, but I guess there are always exceptions. I made a reservation to bring my mother here for her 75th Birthday to celebrate. Upon being sat at a less desirable table on its own, dark and facing a wall, I requested one of several nicer tables in the main outdoor seating area since so many were empty. I watched our server walk over to the host to ask, who then returned to say they had too many reservations to let us switch. Initially I was a bit confused as to why, since we had made a reservation well in advance, they would not prioritize us for the nicer tables we requested, but my mother told me not to make a stink and we let it go. We ate our less than mediocre meal over the course of the next hour, noticing that not one, but three of the tables we were told we couldn’t sit at remained empty the entire time. When we left I confronted the host who stuttered nervously and didn’t have an answer. Blushing and surprised I approached him, he apologized and said “all the reservations” had canceled. Even so, I said I was surprised that each specific table we requested had its own reservation. Stupefied, he had nothing to say, but sorry (with a smile). The food was totally unacceptable for the price. Really and truly bad. I’m happy to spend $250 on a great meal, but for sugary lemon pasta, wilted lettuce in my salad which they forgot to dress (they brought out a ramekin after being notified) and the most bland beat and ricotta crostini one could imagine, I feel duped. Do yourself a favor and go to Antico Nuovo, a 3 minute drive down the road.
Never coming back here, thank god. All I asked for was if I could get a pasta dish with mushrooms & red sauce instead of cream, I was open to however they could do it. The waiter got super weird about it, like I offended the entire establishment, and brought out the manager to tell me the chef had refused. It felt oddly hostile and kind of insulting. The only reason I didn’t walk out right then was to be polite to my friend who was in a pasta mood. So I ordered the fettuccine with pomodoro - it was one of the saddest plates I’ve ever seen and definitely not worth $22. You couldn’t throw a garnish on there? A leaf of basil?? The best thing about the meal was the tiramisu. The food is just not good enough to be refusing a simple modification, and why not clarify that on the menu? Oh, and the AC vent was just blowing cold air on me and my food the whole time too - but I’m sure that was part of the carefully curated experience too, right? This place sucks. Walk 50ft to Burger Lounge instead.
Look the food and Sammy is the best waiter!! Impeccable service
