This may be my new favourite restaurant in Chicagoland — an opinion shared by my family. We enjoyed stellar food. Even by non-vegetarian standards. The Tom Kha soup and spicy eggplant (which also tastes great mild) are fantastic. The curry we tried was also very good. The soy “chicken” has excellent texture and flavour, whether soft or battered. One plate per person is a reasonable serving size. Dietary restrictions: Vegan
First time I check out this place was heading to go visit my grandma I needed to have soup I have a sore throat since yesterday and it's very delicious Vegan Soup.
Vegan Plate offers absolutely exquisite vegan Thai food from here to Pluto and back!! I have ordered from Vegan Plate hundreds of times during the past six years, and I have always been overly pleased. They carefully read my order notes, and they often write beautiful love notes on my to-go bags!! My favourite dishes include red curry, green power salad, brown rice, miso soup, tom kha kai soup, tom yum soup, grilled gyoza, and shumai!! Oh!! And they sent me complimentary ginger tea when I had covid. Such a beautiful business with generous portions and glorious gratitude. ORDER FROM VEGAN PLATE TODAY, AND YOU SHALL EXCLAIM, "HOORAY!!"
Good luck trying to pick what to get, there are so many great choices and it's all so delicious!
Wonderful delicious well spiced and presented. As someone allergic to shrimp the vegan tempura shrimp was great! Portions large and here is leftovers!
Great lunch spot!!! Such generous portions and flavorful food - you may not even realize it’s all vegan!! Totally want to come back and try more :)
One of the few completely vegan Thai spots in Chicago, and it was pretty solid! I came on a weekday for lunch and it was completely empty. It’s a medium-sized space cutely decorated with holiday-themed, festive decor. The service was very quick and friendly. I ordered the Spicy Eggplant with Soy Beef which I really enjoyed! The staff noted that soy chicken and beef tend to be the most popular proteins ordered, and especially recommended the soy beef. The soy beef was tender and flavorful. The eggplant and veggies were also cooked very well: the eggplant was soft and tender and the veggies were crisp and fresh. I ordered it medium spicy and it definitely packed a bit of spice in there, but wasn’t too spicy overall. It also came with purple rice, which was a little hard but good when mixed in with the flavorful entree sauce. Before the entree came out, they also served a small cup of miso soup, but it was a little cold. The dessert selection on the menu looked really good and creative, but unfortunately they only had one of the 5 options available on that day, so we didn’t choose to get it. The prices were also okay— not that expensive but also not that inexpensive (~$16 per entree).
