Vaso was a very nice bar, with two bands each night and really good blues music. Unfortunately it and the entire corner has been closed for more than a year. The entire building is under major construction and is enclosed by chain link fencing to keep anyone out. It is unclear if they will ever return or if the building is being repurposed.
Open late on Sundays and the live band is popping! The drinks are great too! Awesome service as well!
Fond memories of this place from 2017, would love to fly back one day
Music pours out on the streets! I don't care that the beer selection is sparse, they get the best bands. This is New Orleans!
Was in NOLA four years ago for a convention. VASO was our go-to in the evenings. Convention again this Dec and looking forward to hitting this place again. Good band, can't remember the name. Skinny white guy on lead guitar was fantastic. Restroom so-so, but spent my time sitting at a table:-) Prices reasonable. Looking forward to our visit.
I’m to assume she was a bartender, but whomever the lady was very RUDE to my friend and I. She spoke of a one drink minimum, which is cool. Only thing, I had already a drink prior to her eyeing me out of everyone in the bar (she passed by twice). After I try to explain to her, she proceeds to ask for our id’s (when they were checked upon entry) having a horrible attitude with my friend and I. We left, we are locals, and we won’t be returning.
Vaso was one of the cleaner places we visited on Frenchman. They didn't have a great live band that night, which was too bad because we liked the place otherwise. Lots of seating, and it was packed. The crowd was very gracious. We had a kind server, the drinks were great. The entrance and restroom are accessible. They are gender specific.
