Had dinner here tonight and feeling a little disappointed. Arrived on time for reservation and girlfriend asked for us to be seated at a booth. Was told that we should have put in notes on open table that we preferred one. Even tho there were two open booths at time of our reservation. Instead seated at a table by open window 10 feet from live music. Couldn't hear each other talk most of the evening, let alone what our server said or even their name. After finished appetizer and salad waited another 30 min for entree to arrive. I had the beef tip pasta and she had the filet Oscar. My pasta was barely warm, hers was also just warm at best. Luke warm mashed potatoes and asparagus were cold. Had to get up to tell hostess as floor manager and server were nowhere to be found. Server took back our dishes and floor manager returned with plates less than 2 minutes later. Basically microwaved our plates and regarnished. Same piece of meat she had eaten off of, so now was overdone. The sauce in my pasta was thicker, hot at bottom, but still Luke warm at top. Server did check on us but no one in management. We had already waited close to an hour and 15 minutes to eat. Needless to say a disappointing experience at best. We've eaten here many times and have never been disappointed. The lack of empathy was what was most disappointing. Microwaved food does not seem an appropriate fix when paying the prices we do. Would appreciate someone reaching out to address.
Great food, great music, service showed up once in a while.
I love this place. The food is amazing. The bread pudding is worth every single carb. You don’t have to buy ala cart sides so the meal is perfectly curated. Chef made me Brussels even though it didn’t come with it just because they could…and they were fabulous! A fraction of the cost of most restaurants in Louisville. a cute little string band. Do not sleep on Varanese!
Dietary restrictions: If you call ahead with AMPLE TIME the manager is usually able to coordinate a situation that will accommodate certain dietary restrictions. Kid-friendliness: I recently dined there with my niece and nephew. They stayed in their seats and were not disruptive at all. My brother ordered buttered noodles for them which would have been fine. The noodles were great but my niece preferred the calamari appetizer to our surprise. She still had her noodles. Point is, she did In fact eat her dish. The calamari was just that good! Wheelchair accessibility: Everything is on an even level.
My husband and I went here for the first time last night for his birthday. This place truly impressed both of us. The restaurant was cozy and had live jazz style music. The service was lovely and all of the food was outstanding! We will definitely be back.
Food is delicious and drinks are even better!
First time here. Made reservations to celebrate birthday. Our server was excellent. The food was excellent. Several people stopped by to check on us. I would highly recommend. We will be back next time in town.
