Tried to eat lunch there today, and it was a complete nightmare. The place wasn’t very crowded when we arrived at 12:05. We ordered, and one hour later, still had no food. I noticed that others around us were suffering the same fate. The bartender was manning the front cash register, and then would run over to make a drink for someone. Clearly, they were severely understaffed. Unfortunately, it was at the height of lunch rush hour. I kindly asked for a refund and left. I saw three other customers do the same, before departing.
Service a bit slow, we waited about 25 minutes just to order and they were out of almost everything :(. Once we ordered the food got here pretty quick and it was good.
We showed up at 11:40 am. Their were 18 people in line, with about 20 more seated and waiting for food at tables. At 12:30, we noticed several customers walking around without food, some leaving, no service. We did not get to eat here. We left after getting a full refund. There were 2 cooks in the kitchen. 1 bartender and another person. I have never ever had to walk out of any reputable restarant for a complete lack of the ability to serve food. Its a very sad day at Valentiona's. I hope yall can get your Mojo back.
What a disappointment! Way over hyped. I’ve definitely had better brisket. Went to lunch on Sunday for my cousins birthday. We got there at 11:30am to avoid things being sold out and half the menu was sold out. Same experience as the first time I went. The service was awful! They had one cashier during lunch so the lines were long. No silverware was available. It was SO much better when it was a food truck!
5 P.M. and literally nothing but guacamole and pulled chicken sandwich. Both extremely underwhelming. Guacamole was fridge frozen with huge hard chunks, bland as hell..no spices? Lime, salt? Basically barely mashed Avocados, from the fridge. Yes this place isn’t known for their chicken but damn that was trash.
The place is pretty nice and big with plenty of tables to share. We ordered our food and took 50 minutes to get it, and the place was not very busy. I ordered the brisket sandwich which was dry and a little tough. I had an order of beans that were tasteless and just plain basic. My husband ordered the same and his food was dry as well. It’s not worth the drive from Austin.
NEVER COMING BACK AGAIN! I arrived at 3 and they were out of mostly everything! Nothing but careless teenagers worked there with no customer service! As I was waiting on my food the “teenage workers” were in the back playing around with their hair loose and eating in the kitchen in PLAIN SIGHT! I order two of the specialty sloppy Jose sandwiches and it did not have any sausage! The fountain drink machine was clogged up and dirty with no ice until I got the bartenders attention to add some! The food and service was horrible! $60 for basically two brisket sandwiches!
Went there on a Saturday afternoon in January. My sister was raving about them. Maybe we just we went there on an off day. Seemed like no one on the staff was over 18. No forks, water in the bathroom was not working and had no guacamole. I had brisket that was dry and not freshly cut. This is the first time I have ever wrote a review in my life. It was that bad that I had to warn others.
530 and only thing available was pulled pork, sausage, and smoked chicken enchiladas. Paid for a root beer but was out and after requesting twice I'm not sure it was ever refilled. No one ever checked on us or interacted with us.
