V' Soul Food Shack

Stopped in her at V's for lunch with my man today, and it most certainly did not disappoint. The fried chicken is super crispy & juicy with amazing spices. An the baked beans were definitely on point as well, an V gave us a sample of his famous ribs, which fall right off the bone and have the right amount of sauce, juiciness and meat. Definitely found my new Soul Food spot that is just right around the corner from home. An V made us feel like family, an made a great impression on me and my man. Highly recommend this place for your next solo/family sit down or on the go meal

Best damn chicken and potato salad in Portland!!! I'm coming back for the ribs. They are cooking now and smell amazing!!! Must try!!! Update: I went back for the ribs. Holy cow (no pun intended, lol), Those ribs had a good amount of meat on those bones. The flavor was amazing. The BBQ sauce was so good, the perfect amount of heat and sweet but not too much of each. V just made a new batch of potato salad (his moms recipe) with homemade pickles in it. OMG I'm in heaven with my new little gem, I found on Cully. Can't wait to take my friends and family. Thanks V for treating me like family. You are a treasure. Hugs and loves to you. Parking: Small parking lot. But people are mostly taking food to go. If you're patient, you'll find your spot. Or just park on the street. Parking is easy.

Juicy and tender ribs, great people, the owner was getting propane when I walked in but got back in 10 minutes and served the food. Not many soul food carts around Portland. Definitely one I would recommend.

Get the chicken basket

Was told right away that they only had seafood and chicken. This is about 330 pm so I ordered the shrimp and fries and ask if the fries were seasoned witch I was told they were. Then I got limp soggy unseasoned fries. Then the shrimp definitely came from some kind of frozen Costco bag and with no cocktail sauce. I have been wanting to try this place for a while and walked away sad with my 14 dollars of barely edible food.

BBQ is worth the wait Fer sure so be ready to wait bbq can not be rushed whatsoever

Juicy tender ribs with plenty of flavor showed up before opening an still got served! Best food I've tried In Portland while visiting so far 10/10

Hard to find good Collard Greens outside the South but they did not disappoint. Got the Snapper as well and was very tasty. Hope to try the Ribs next time!
