URBN North Park

(Update: I just visited 4 years after my original review. The food is still great. Don't be fooled by the rating. This is a regional specialty food that can catch you off guard if you are expecting generic pizza.) If you like distinctive New Haven-style pizza, make sure you stop here and try as many classic pies as you can. URBN does New Haven style “apizza” (ah-BEETS) right. Coal-fired oven at 600 degrees. A mild char. Thin Neapolitan-style crust without too much cheese. Irregular shape on a half-sheet tray. It’s all there. If you want to stay traditional, go with the Margarita or get a red pie with mozzarella and pepperoni. You’ll love the way the cheese leaves room for the tomato to bubble through. There is the URBN version of Frank Pepe’s classic clam pizza, only URBN uses Parmesan instead of Romano cheese and goes too light on the olive oil. It’s good, but makes you appreciate the original. The chicken pesto with broccoli is a winner as well. Because this is California, there are plenty of non-traditional options. But apizza is hard to find outside Connecticut, so I’m sticking with the tried and true. The prices are good for a specialty pizza like this and the service has always been spot on. Parking: There is a public, paid lot next to the restaurant, as well as plenty of free street parking around the area. I've never had to pay during any of my visits.

If I could give this place. 0 star I would customer service is horrid and the owner she rude and selective with her clients.

Awesome

The food was delicious and the pizza portion was wild, but the wait was a little long. It makes sense since the pizza is delicious and very large when you get the large! We had the hot honey and woooow it was delicious. We also tried the Baja bladed hard seltzers which are the special currently!

Coming here has become a bit of a family tradition since first coming here in 2023 right before the Teddy Swims concert. The Urbn Salad is a really nice treat. The small size should feed two. I've tried the buffalo-flavored wings, but my favorite are the spicy wings! My wife and I absolutely LOVE the made-to-order selection of pizzas. Our favorite so far is the BBQ pizza. Delish! The service is always welcoming, and the atmosphere is wide open and fun. You should try it!

Really tasty New Haven style pizza! Servers were friendly and attentive. Very loud music playing so really hard to have a conversation with two in our party with hearing losses.
