Urban Cantina

The food was fine but the billing is unusual. We were a party of three. They bring the bill total on an electronic device and show and tell you only the final amount-not itemized. I ask for paper receipt so we could check the bill before paying. She said, we give you that at the end. But on the electronic device it gives you tip options of varying amounts. I picked the standard 15% amount. Turns out they had already put a 20% gratuity on our bill and the the 15% I gave was on top of that. It's fine. But a patron should know in advance. The fact they show you only the final amount an electronic device (small tablet) AND add 20% on a party of only 3 people is unusual and felt deceptive.

Sad to believe one of my favorite restaurants has gone downhill. Visited Urban Cantina a couple of days ago with a group of friends, and how many times can you screw up a meal?!! About 10 times. ***Food was cold***, drinks were bitter, waitress brought in the wrong mixed drink to the table, and to make matters worse one of my friends meals still had the ****tomato produce sticker mixed in her tacos**** We asked to speak to a Manager/Supervisor and we were told that there was NO MANAGER/SUPERVISOR on duty. This is the last time we visit Urban Cantina!! I have visited this place for 15 years...and is absolutely out of touch with the clientele! Hope owner sees this upsetting review, so it can be turned around as soon as possible.

I was in town for my birthday and wanted authentic Mexican food. We googled and found this place. The closest parking was about two blocks away and we paid $20 for the parking. After walking in we were served a water pitcher and two glasses. Both glasses had dried up food on them and the water pitcher had particles in it: I informed the waitress and she gave us plastic cups and water bottles which was perfectly fine. I then asked for a cup of ice and the ice had dried up food stuck in it. The experience was uneasy and terrible. Here are some pics below.

Legit food. Fast and economical. Great selection of tequila. The wall opens to the street when the weather is good. You won’t regret getting a bite to eat here.

We’ve been here before and it is our go to. The staff is awesome. The food is just as good. If you’re craving simple, tasty, Mexican food…why not step up? ‍↔️
