By far my favorite coffee shop around, especially to meet up with friends or get some work done.
Tried this place for the first time. Wife and I are heavy coffee drinkers, who love bold flavored coffee/espresso. I was looking for "Underground Coffee," but it's now called "Honu." Walked in, ambience is nice. The barista approached us and greeted us, somewhat coldly. Anyways, ordered an oat milk latte with an extra shot, wife got a regular coffee. Per my wife, the coffee tasted watered down. My drink tasted bland and I couldn't really taste the coffee/espresso, just the oat milk. Paid $9.99 (plus $1 tip) for two bland drinks. Sat outside, took a few sips and had to throw both drinks out. I guess it might be ok for people who like light roast and aren't coffee enthusiasts, but for coffee lovers, I'd go elsewhere. We ended up going to our regular coffee shop, Peet's.
I used to come here before they switched the name to Honu. I don’t know if they also switched coffee beans but their coffee isn’t as good as it used to be. Also their pastries are very pale and bland. I will say it’s very clean, and would recommend as a place for quiet. But I’d get your espresso fix else where.
This is the second location for honu coffee. Love the coffee. The location is ok but I prefer the original spot in Newhall.
I attend Church where the Undergroung is located. Keep up the wonderful work. God bless all that volunteer
Great coffee served by wonderful people.
