Udon Mugizo

I really enjoyed the food at Udon Mugizo! I wanted something light and got the Niku Udon. The noodles tasted great and were homemade. The texture was really nice. I also enjoyed the broth which was well flavored and not too heavy. We put our name on the waitlist when we arrived and waited around half an hour for a table for two. There's a lot of cute spots around the restaurant so highly recommend exploring after you've checked in at the restaurant.

Solid Nabeyaki Udon, complete with chicken, fish cake, maitake mushroom, shrimp tempura and tempura flakes. Thick noodles well-cooked. The broth, while tasty, lacked much depth beyond salt. While normally sweet adverse, a hint more sweetness would have brought the overall palette to perfection. Excellent location within Kinokuniya Building of Japan Center. A pleasing aesthetic well-reflecting a trip to San Francisco Japantown.

Homemade udon noodles is the best.

Very authentic Japanese restaurant with very savory thick noodle udon soup. Comes with a wide variety of garnishes and goodies including tempura and chashu. Their unsweet iced matcha tea topped it off with a nice refreshing finish. Definitely a winter/spring time meal.

Got the curry udon and it was really good and hearty! One of the few places where I think the price really reflects in the quality of the dishes in Japantown.

It has been a while since the last time we were here! We came back just before our trip back home :) We just don’t want to miss it! We ordered a few dishes of appetizers and we both ordered Mentai as our main course because it is too good and we don’t want to share :D Our server is great and very attentive as well! She always checked in with us and made sure everything is alright! Her name is June! Great service and recommendation :) The ambience is great, not so crowded outside as they have a waiting list system and you can walk around and come back when the table is ready! Quite convenient! The music is not too loud too! We love it here overall! :) Thanks June for your great service as well! We’ll come back for more!

I have to keep drinking water after I had lunch here. Too salty!
