By far the absolute best bbq in Houston
Lives up to the hype! Melt-in-your-meath meat (pulled pork and pork ribs) and oh-so-good sides (brussel sprouts and corn pudding). Go early so you get what you want, they sell out!
04/20 Had my Dad’s birthday lunch enjoyed the entire experience. From the line to the servers, to Jerry very pleasant and attentive to the guests never had a dirty table, food was DELICIOUS we left FAT full. Well pleased family members. 10+ to TRUTH BBQ P.S. Ms. J for accurate advice for arrive time R. Booker
Disappointed with my last two visits. Both their service and the quality have gone down. Today the mac and cheese was undercooked. For the brisket, I asked for moist and it was dry and lacked flavor. Will not return.
This is just a warning to others. Heard it was great. Was in Houston so made it a point to go only to arrive find it was closed for a private event. It’s not listed on website, their Twitter account or Google. And hours not listed as ‘’subject to change” so call first… maybe next time.
Great spot. Quantities were generous, and the BBQ was really great. The brisket was as good as I expected, the pork ribs were even better than I was hoping, and the sausage was decent but nothing amazing. Mac and cheese as a side was OK, the tater tot casserole was significantly better. Overall it's good value - 2 people with moderate appetites could share a 3 meat platter and be satisfied, and it'd come in under $20/person after tip.
The meat was good, the sides were mediocre, and the non existent service was exactly that. The meat is good, and that’s why we all are seeking this place out. I really didn’t like the side options we ordered, potato salad and tater tot casserole. I think the restaurant was trying to put their own spin on it and it just wasn’t what I was looking for. I gave a low ranking for the service, simply because of the service lol Everyone has to stand outside with only free water cups offered. Fast forward to after I had placed my order, I was dispensing tea from the wrong spigot. The guy busing tables wasn’t happy about this and actually asked why I was choosing to dispense from that spigot and not the other one he had wanted us to us. I disagree with the statement “Customer is always right” but I do agree “The customer is never wrong”. You had it out there on the drink table and it was utilizing it. Big picture here, what does it really matter if I dispense from the wrong tea container? Let me finish getting my drink from the self serve drink station and then make an adjustment to your operation so that other customers don’t do as I did….if it’s really that big of a deal. The meat was good, the sides were mediocre, and the non existent service was exactly that.
